At the Talladega Superspeedway, Bubba Wallace stunned everyone when he won the Cup Series race. A few days after the triumph, he appeared on CBS Mornings to discuss his win on home soil. He spoke about how important the win was and what it means to him and the team. In addition to that, the #23 driver revealed that he and his fiancee may have predicted the win.
He said, “We had a good feeling, going into it. Amanda, my fiancee, and I, we called it on Friday. Reminded me of the feeling that I had back in 2013, when I won my first Truck race. Just knew we were going to win this race. There were times, where I was like, ‘Man! This isn’t the feeling that I had’. However, it came at the right time. You never question it, always stay true to it, and it works out.”

What else did Bubba Wallace say?
He also spoke about his mother, Desiree Wallace, who hoped and prayed for his win. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that Wallace may have been the second African-American driver to win, after Wendell Scott.

However, Scott did not actually receive a trophy until much later, due to a scoring issue. On the other hand, Wallace’s win came after the race was red-flagged due to inclement weather.

Although it was an anticlimactic win, it definitely counted, and Wallace was happy either way. Without a doubt, he will be carrying out Scott’s legacy.

To be precise, Wallace’s new target will likely be to add more wins under his belt and surpass the late African-American driver. Of course, it would be a bit of a stretch to expect Bubba Wallace to add more wins for the rest of the season. However, 23XI Racing owner Michael Jordan will be happy to see his team grab its first win.
