The NASCAR world is well aware that the drama and action that happens on tracks can lead to certain remarks that can cause a lot of buzz. This time, it is a war of words between the veteran drivers and the new drivers of the NASCAR Cup Series. And Bubba Wallace has not shied away from giving his bold response to what Kyle Busch said a few days ago.
There is an ongoing conversation about a lack of respect in the NASCAR fraternity. Veteran drivers like Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin have openly talked about a lot of younger drivers turning a deaf ear to “respect in the garage” and on track. But this weekend at Circuit of The Americas a few of the younger drivers gave their take on the issue at hand. And it turns out, they have a different story altogether.

23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace was one of the most vocal drivers to point out certain issues relating to disrespect on the tracks. In a YouTube video posted by ‘After The Checkered Flags’ Wallace said, “it’s from the top down, to talk about it’s a new age, but can’t even talk to some of the guys that have been here for a long time. So it’s just lack of respect from top down.”
“So that’s how it’s always been and who was it, talked about you know, that’s how the younger Generations kind of always raced now you know I mean it’s been cutthroat.”
Wallace, giving it back, believes it’s not just the new-age drivers but rather drivers at the top who are not approachable. And to blame completely on the new age drivers does not justify as per his opinion. Alongside Bubba, a few other young drivers also think it was a combination of things that has amplified aggression levels and disrespect across NASCAR.

It was during that first conversation in Atlanta around the topic of lack of respect that the veterans spoke out. They expect the drivers to know the history well and the respect that comes along with it to be given to them on tracks.

Kyle Busch claimed, “We have completely lost any sense of respect in the garage between the drivers at all.”
To this, Denny Hamlin later added, “fair statement, I can’t refute it… But it certainly has changed. Absolutely, within our sport. .. also tried to talk to people and it’s like, it just doesn’t get through. And so you just feel like you’re done talking. Right? And so it is a shame…”
The perfect example of this was what happened between Daniel Suarez, Ross Chastain, and Alex Bowman in the cool-down lap at the race.
