At the Daytona International Speedway, Bubba Wallace recorded a career-best finish. While he first managed to score a fine third place, things got better for him when Chris Buescher got disqualified and Wallace inherited second place on the track. Unfortunately, it was not enough for him to make it into the playoffs, as nothing but a win was needed.
After the race, Wallace spoke about his best-ever finish. He said, “That last restart, our car felt slow and sluggish. When that wreck happened, I came out third, but its not what we needed. Solid day, we led some laps, its the best I’ve kept a speedway car clean. Mostly just some nose damage, but we gave them a good run.”
The 23XI Racing driver admitted that he was a little frustrated, as he often gets called out for not working with teammates. Of course, the driver insisted that Blaney and Ford reached Victory Lane because they all worked together.

According to him, it was a race that he was confident of winning because he prepared well for it. Sadly, the driver is not going to reach the playoffs and hand 23XI Racing a fabulous debut. Instead, Wallace is going to target 17th place in the championship, as it is the highest he is ever going to finish in 2021.
From there, he can set up the building blocks for his and the team’s success. Once he does that, the only thing that 23XI Racing can do is improve.

At the moment, Wallace is in 21st place and has four places to make up. As long as he can outscore Austin Dillon, Chris Buescher, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and Matt DiBenedetto, he can reach 17th. Of course, those four drivers and the rest of the pack will not make it easy for him, but he will try his hardest.
