In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, shared his thoughts on Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain’s season long back and forth, of which the 23XI Racing co-owner has come out on the wrong side of.

Chastain eliminated Hamlin through his insane ‘video game’ move at Martinsville.

But Kraft claimed that had the veteran taken his long-due pending revenge on the #1, things would’ve been different.

“Listen, Ross put the bumper to him two or three times in that last restart and Denny had the perfect opportunity to take care of this,” he said. “If you would’ve exacted revenge there for all the other times, he’s done something this year and you spin him or knock him out of the hill and he’s 15th coming out of the backstretch instead of 10th, you’re in the playoffs, you’re in the final four and he’s not.”

“You didn’t take that opportunity now you’re gonna watch him race for a championship,” the spotter continued.

Having said that, Kraft added that Denny Hamlin has one more opportunity to prove that he is “not all talk” simply because he “threatened to take care” of Chastain, but so far it hasn’t really happened.

The veteran driver added that the move was “well executed,” something he didn’t find embarrassing for the sport as someone like Kyle Larson did.

“These are the rules we play. You got to race inside these walls, and he found a way to do it better than us on the last lap,” Hamlin described.
