So far this season, Bubba Wallace hasn’t really tasted much success apart from his top-5 finish in Las Vegas. Apart from that, the 23XI star’s season so far is riddled with inconsistent performances and results.

But going into the Circuit of The Americas, Wallace could finally have some joy. At least that’s what his fans would be hoping based on the pace that he and his teammate Tyler Reddick have shown in practice.

According to journalist Jeff Gluck, Wallace was the 2nd fastest, only behind Reddick, and ahead of drivers like Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain, and his own boss, Denny Hamlin.

However, should Wallace replicate a similar performance on Sunday, and should the field look the way it did in practice, it could be a bizarre situation as one fan hilariously suggested.

Bubba Wallace responds to fan after hilarious remark about his insane pace at COTA

As the state of the field came into the picture after practice at COTA with Bubba Wallace in 2nd place, a NASCAR fan hilariously remarked, “I like Bubba but if he’s that fast on Sunday the 23 will be going to R&D for sure.”

What the fan seems to be implying is that based on the inconsistent performances so far this season. It would be very surprising and quite bizarre if Wallace finds the same luck on Sunday, so much so that his #23 Toyota Camry may have to be studied at the R&D center.

“I think we just have to keep showing up with that confidence. It’s a long season; the confidence can definitely get lost in translation.”

Clearly, the season hasn’t turned out to be the way he would’ve wanted. But there’s still a long way to go for Bubba Wallace to bounce back and equate his results with his confidence.

And the way things are going, he might begin doing so at COTA this Sunday.
