Bubba Wallace’s 2022 campaign might not have been astounding when compared to other drivers on the grid. However, even though he struggled at the start of the season, both he and the team saw a slew of changes that improved them with each passing race. Wallace’s continued efforts even landed him a much-needed victory. Now with this season over, Wallace looks over to the next with greater ambitions and hope.

After 23XI Racing shared a video summarizing their 2022 season run, Bubba Wallace re-shared the post on his Twitter and said, What a year.

While the first half of his season was surely rocky, from adopting to the new car to the pit crew inexperience issues. Everything seemed to hinder the driver from showing his true potential. It was only after the playoffs started that Wallace successfully secured his first win by holding off his boss Denny Hamlin while leading the race onto the checkered at Kansas. However, not everything this season would be smooth sailing for the 23XI Racing driver.

During the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Wallace tried to retaliate against fellow competitor Kyle Larson. In the quest to do so, he managed to hook the back of his car while at high speed. Sending both drivers out of contention. Amidst the chaos, their incident also accidentally took out JGR playoff contender Christopher Bell. Later on, Wallace climbed out of the car and marched towards Larson, and pushed him. His actions soon led to a massive social media backlash against Wallace.

After Wallace re-shared his team’s Twitter video, fans gave out a mixed array of reactions toward him. While some were supportive and wanted him to do better next year, others were critical of his on-track incidents, especially the one with Larson and his behavior later on.

Now, the 2022 chapter has now been closed, with all that Wallace has been through, the highs and the lows. Will he be able to learn from his mistakes and capitalize on them next season? Only time will tell how the 2023 season will pan out for him.
