The 2023 Cup Series season has been a season to reflect upon for Michael Jordan’s NASCAR team 23XI Racing and also its star driver Bubba Wallace. The driver for the first time in his Cup Series career was able to qualify for the post-season. However, in these serious moments of introspection, the #23 Toyota driver can hardly keep aside his tomfoolery. This time it was the spotters and the fellow hosts of the Door Bumper Clear podcast that fell victim to it.
With the NASCAR season coming to a culmination after the grand finale on the track of Phoenix, the podcast channels on Spotify for NASCAR fandoms have been running dry. However, with the 2024 season just around the corner, the media production has also geared up to soothe its listeners. Owing to this, Wallace tried to engage in a friendly banter on his Twitter account.

“This show works because we’re allowed to be ourselves. We’re unfiltered personalities in the sport that have a perspective […]” The words by Brett Griffin were the dominant idea behind the creation of Door Bumper Clear. This podcast not only provides an insider perspective of the sport but also dissects and examines every move and its implication in the sport. Moreover, industry insiders often brace episodes as guests.
Owing to this, Bubba Wallace seemed to hope to make an appearance in one such episode but has fallen apart, as was evident in the tweet posted by Wallace. He stated, “Sitting here sipping some new bourbons in the collection and thinking…. I could be wrong, but I feel confident I’m not.. the DBC clowns said I believe 2 years ago that I was at the top of their list on being on the show… But I’ve never been askeedddd to be on the show. Funny .”
Nevertheless, it seems that the driver has finally unlocked a way in order to be invited on the show, thanks to spotter Brett Griffin. The spotter divulged, “Open door when you bring bourbon. I need a fair swap for some Elmer T Lee.”

Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft retorted to Wallace’s exclamation by humorously adding, “You must be sipping a lot since you’ve forgotten that you’ve been on there twice.” Moreover, it seems that the driver has reached a truce, as he replied to Griffin, “I got you. Whatcha got?”

Bubba Wallace’s antics know no bounds, but when it comes to racing, the driver has proved what it takes to be a Cup Series driver. Moreover, after a successful 2023 Cup Series season, the driver is ready to look forward to the upcoming season.
With the teams gearing up for the season-opening race of Clash at the Coliseum, Wallace forged a sponsorship contract with the US Air Force. The sponsorship realigns Wallace with the Air Force. The driver flaunted the colors of the USAF during his time at Richard Petty Motorsports. The Air Force would be serving as the #23 Toyota team’s primary sponsor but it is not known for how many races.
Speaking on realigning with the USAF, Wallace expressed to Racer Magazine, “It’s really special to once again be partnered with the men and women who make up the United States Air Force. My previous experience with the folks from the Air Force was awesome and I had the chance to meet a lot of great Airmen who do some amazing things each and every day. I’m looking forward to welcoming them to 23XI and showing them what we’re all about as we work together to try and accomplish the impossible.”

With that being said, it will be interesting to see if Bubba Wallace is invited to the sets of Door Bumper Clear and whether he will be able to replicate the success of 2023 in the upcoming season and maybe even make it to the Championship 4.
