Wallace Jr had taken part in 157 races so far and the only win from all of them came in 2021. Moreover, Bubba isn’t at a very good place in the points standings this year. All these made his fans wonder why he chose 2022 as his best year.

Talking about this, Bubba conveyed, “We have not been firing on all cylinders as a team. And the results show. I feel like, honestly … that this has been the best year for me mentally, physically, showing up and being there ready to learn, ready to work and drive my ass off.”

Bubba Wallace returns to Talladega

NASCAR returns to Talladega this week for the ninth round of the Cup Series. After the all-exciting Bristol Dirt Race in, the sport is back at Talladega Superspeedway. This is where Bubba picked up his maiden and only victory last year.

Despite being a rain-interrupted victory, Wallace Jr enjoyed the race win to the fullest. Even though some fans called the race win a ‘mickey-mouse’ race for its short length, Darrell seemed to have not paid much attention. With the win, the 23XI driver has become the first Black driver to win a race in NASCAR for the first time in 57 years.

Talking about his emotions regards Talladega, the 28-year-old driver further stated, “Talladega is Talladega. It just so happened to be that’s where we got our first win. And with everything that’s gone on prior to that, it’s just kind of a perfect storm. And everything that has gone on there, it’s made me who I am today — the good, bad, and in between and all that. I just enjoy being there.”
