When AJ Allmendinger announced this year that he would not be coming back for a full-time ride in 2024, the fans wondered who would replace ‘The Dinger’ in his #16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Moreover, as Kaulig Racing announced earlier, the team was moving Daniel Hemric, the full-time driver of the #11 Chevrolet, to the #10 Chevrolet for the three-round, seven-race postseason. But how does Ty Dillon feature in these developments?

Hemric will be coming back to race in the Cup Series with the #31 Kaulig Racing in 2024. Besides that, according to an article by On3.com, it looks increasingly like Ty Dillon will take up the #16 firesuit and drive Allmendinger’s Cup Series machine in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, what does this mean for his old team?

After having driven ousted Noah Gragson’s Legacy Motorclub car in 2023 and proving his prowess at it, 20-year-old Carson Hocevar is all set to skip a grade and get his promotion into the highest tier of NASCAR. And that is happening simultaneously as Ty Dillon is expected to vacate his #77 seat at Jeff Dickerson’s team.

Dillon’s first full-time Cup Series season at Spire Motorsports hasn’t been a great one. Throughout a span of 36 races, he was not been able to score a single top-10 finish. However, Hocevar instills great hopes in the minds of the fans as well as team owner Jeff Dickerson. As reported by autoweek.com, Dickerson said, “Carson Hocevar is a proven winner and excels with every opportunity. He’s an undeniable talent and reminds me a lot of a young Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski”

While talking about Ty Dillon, Dickerson said, “We’re also very grateful to Ty Dillon for everything he’s done for our organization and the No. 77 team, in particular. Ty came to Spire Motorsports after the 2022 season and has put his best foot forward. He’s done everything we’ve asked of him. We know he’ll land with a top-flight race team and wish him the very best.”

Chris Rice said in his announcement, “You never know what will happen during the offseason. We have the best team of digital media. Actually, anything from the communications side, I feel like we have the best team here at Kaulig Racing. So, stay tuned for lot of cool stuff and also, you never know; we might have an announcement on 11, 16… nevermind!”

Fans took to Reddit as one of them said, “Pop pop bribing em with those free engines”.

While another slammed Dillon saying, “Ty Dillon about to fail upwards yet again”.

“Boy is Dillon about to get them a ton of hate,” anticipated one. Needless to say, it has come true already.

While another user added, “Ty Dillon come on down!”

“the death rattle of Kaulig Cup will start Thursday, look for them to sell out after next year,” one Reddit user prophesied.
