Brett Griffin Reveals Why Denny Hamlin is the “Modern Day Dale Earnhardt” With Bubba Wallace Example

Having given 18 years to the Cup Series and taken part in around 600 races, one should hold him as one of the greatest to grace the sport. However, is Hamlin as good as Dale Earnhardt Sr? Brett Griffin explains.

Talking about the comparison between Dale Sr and Denny Hamlin, the NASCAR spotter stated, “Denny Hamlin is a modern-day Dale Earnhardt.”

“He’s the only driver in the field that is driving his car for a team owner, who also has other entries in the race that he owns obviously.”

“Let me rephrase that. 23XI is the modern-day DEI.”

“And if you go back and watch in a blink of an eye, Michael Waltrip’s documentary, he talks about Dale Senior sitting down with Dale Junior and himself Michael and three of them agreeing to work together at these plate races,” Griffin further stated in 263rd episode of Door Bumper Clear.

“Then we saw what DEI’s success was over the years when Michael and Dale Junior working together like. I think Denny is in a situation like this and I think Denny is smart enough to know this.”

“When he gets to Daytona, who needs the win? Him or Bubba Wallace? I think it’s Bubba Wallace,” Brett concluded.

Denny Hamlin and Dale Earnhardt Sr, a perfect comparison?

Talking about Dale Earnhardt Sr, it’s not surprising for a NASCAR fan to know his contribution to the sport. Regarded as one of the strongest names in NASCAR history, Dale Sr has a name for himself that is widely accepted and respected.

Dale Sr co-owned a NASCAR team named Dale Earnhardt Inc. or DEI. DEI tasted immense success on the track as it picked up four driver’s championships, and 95 race victories in all categories including 24 Cup Series wins.
