Over the past month, Brett Griffin’s name has become synonymous with Twitter controversies. Be it the Chicago Street Circuit winner Shane Van Gisbergen or the Chicagi city officials, no one has escaped the Kaulig Racing spotter’s onslaught. Facing severe backlash for his comments, Griffin once again had fans on Twitter riled up for attacking Mark Zuckerberg’s new undertaking, Threads.

Tugging the strings of controversy again, Brett Griffin has declared war against fellow spotter and 23XI Racing employee, Nick Payne.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek grabbed the title win at the Alsco Uniforms 250 Xfinity Series race after a fierce battle with Daniel Hemric and Cole Custer. The race also witnessed a large number of cautions being brought out owing to multiple car wrecks. While the race leaders stole the show with their spectacular neck-to-neck finish, Brett Griffin’s eyes were fixated on the #24 Sam Hunt Racing Toyota. Driving part-time in the Xfinity Series, Parker Chase was behind the wheel of Sam Hunt Racing’s #24 car. Wrecking out during the race, Chase finished in the 27th position.

Apparently unhappy with Parker Chase’s crash, Brett Griffin wrote on Twitter, “Zero awareness caused that 24 to wreck.  What a joke. Idk who Parker chase is or who spots for him but one or both of them were lost. Play the in car audio over that clip.”

Nick Payne (spotter for Parker Chase and also Tyler Reddick in the Cup Series) quickly responded to Griffin’s comments writing, “ I spot that car actually. We weren’t even the yellow so I’m not sure why it matters to you. But..Doesn’t matter who’s fault it is. Proud of @parker_chase19 and all of the guys at @Team_SHR26 we win and lose as a team.” Taking a sarcastic dig at Brett Griffin’s tweets, Payne added, “Appreciate the support Bert”.

Brett Griffin wasn’t too pleased with Nick Payne’s response. He quickly shot back saying, “Then don’t put yourself in a shitty situation.I’ve said this many times to others in your situation.  As I said, the driver spotter or both was unaware.” The Kaulig Racing spotter then sarcastically pointed out how Payne’s work as an Xfinity spotter was inferior to his work in the Cup Series. Griffin added There’s a reason the 45 is at the end of your name and not the 24. Good luck tomorrow. Happened with the 5 car and my great friend Doug years ago. Didn’t know he spotted the 5. He got mad. I said what I said.”

While Griffin’s war of words raged on, fans on Twitter were growing weary of the Kaulig Racing spotter’s antics.
