With the first two playoff races over, the Cup Series gears towards the first elimination round in Bristol. While Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick notched two victories, veterans like Martin Truex Jr. and Michael McDowell have landed in a precarious state after both playoff races turned out to be nightmares for them.

Nevertheless, after two eventful races, attention shifts to one of the toughest tracks in NASCAR, Bristol Motor Speedway, also known as “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile”. This short track has witnessed one of the most intense and dramatic races of the series, owing to its exponentially high banking and tight field. Having said that, Brad Keselowski’s emerging star seems to have words of caution for the playoffs driver ahead of the Bristol race.

After a grueling battle that ensued among the drivers on the tracks of Kansas, the race eventually simmered down to the employment of a proper tire strategy. After a successful pit stop and an audacious three-wide pass in the final laps of the race, Tyler Reddick was able to net his second victory of the season, enter the Round of 12, and avert the uncertainties that await the drivers on the track at Bristol.

The race at Kansas turned out to be wreck carnage after a majority of the drivers spun out on the track, along with tire failures, one of which was the defending champion of Bristol and RFK Racing’s emerging star, Chris Buescher. The Ford driver, who started 13th and was poised to earn stage points, was met with unfortunate circumstances, one of which was the loss of a right rear tire, which threw the driver deep into the field.

Chris Buescher eventually finished the race in 27th place. Nevertheless, the driver would like to keep his chin up as they fly to Bristol next Saturday. Being the defending winner on the track, the RFK Racing driver issued a note of caution for the drivers, prying for a victory.

In an interview with Frontstretch media speaking on the experience of racing in Bristol, Buescher expressed, “I mean tons of comments into that one, coming off a race win there. You know no one that will be fast, we are certainly excited for it. Just wanted to go into it with a whole lot better day in Kansas, so that we weren’t behind the eight ball, so to speak.”

Brad Keselowski holds his hopes high after a commendable feat

Moreover, still elusive of a victory, Brad Keselowski notched another top-10 finish in the race and sits comfortably over the elimination line of the playoffs.

After an eventful outing in Kansas, Keselowski expressed to the media, “Up and down day all the way across the board, and at the end there, we were pitted, I think, and came out 17th. We got back up to sixth; needed a few more laps and a few more cars to pit with us to help us get through the traffic.”

“Good momentum, a lot to be proud of. Long ways to go,” the co-owner added.
