Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, and Jeff Gordon are not just drivers; they have a deep emotional attachment to the sport as they have also found success in running their own teams within the sport. Brad Keselowski has been a team’s co-owner of RFK Racing since 2022.
During the conversation with Kenny Wallace, Kenny praised Brad Keselowski for his remarkable achievements in a relatively short period of time. However, Keselowski humbly responded, saying, “I haven’t done enough.” He expressed his longing for race wins like Daytona and his burning desire to secure his second championship. Additionally, he shared his aspirations of becoming a team owner and staying involved in the sport until the end of his days.
As the conversation progressed, they delved into intriguing topics, and the one which caught everyone’s attention was Brad’s belief about one of the most legendary racers in the history of motorsports, Tony Stewart.

Brad Keselowski on Tony Stewart: He’s been a big inspiration
When the conversation took a turn towards the other successful team owner, Brad Keselowski openly shared his admiration for Tony Stewart, and how he wants his career path to be the same. He expressed:
“Tony Stewart was definitely, a huge, I think a motivator for me, seeing what he did at Stewart Haas Racing and I don’t want to speak for Tony, to me personally the most impressive thing Tony Stewart’s done in his whole career was not in Gibbs, it was not in Indycar, it wasn’t any of those things, it was becoming a part of a team that wasn’t successful at the Cup level and winning a championship with it. That to me is his biggest career accomplishment.”
After Joe Gibbs Racing switched from Chevrolet to Toyota in 2008, the SHR and SRE co-owner joined Haas CNC Racing, which today is Stewart-Haas Racing. Tony has helped Haas attract some top-tier sponsorships and has always been a vocal advocate for the team. His leadership has been instrumental in the development of budding drivers, such as Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, and Chase Briscoe.
Tony Stewart has played a major role in the success of Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR). Since joining the team in 2009, he has helped them win three NASCAR Cup Series championships (2011, 2014, and 2018), and two NASCAR Xfinity Series championships (2011 and 2014).
Keselowski further emphasized, “Going to Stewart Haas and making that team what was probably a 25th or 30th place team a championship team in three-four seasons, I think that’s super impressive and that is more than being a good driver. “
Brad ended his conversation, he acknowledged the significant contributions of Tony Stewart, “That is a lot of pieces coming together and being a good car owner, being a good leader, being a good man and I think he deserves a lot of credit for it.”
