Back in 2017, Fox Sports decided to have a team of NASCAR drivers still in the race game take the mic for the Xfinity Series race at Pocono. They figured it was a groundbreaking move, putting active athletes in the commentator’s seat for a live event on national TV for the first time.

Keeping the ball rolling, this year Brad Keselowski is stepping up to the plate to lend his voice for the Xfinity race at Daytona, according to motorsport.com. Keselowski won’t be flying solo, though; another racer from the NASCAR circuit will be joining him in the booth to call the shots.

Since 2015, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, and Danica Patrick have been popping in as guest pundits for Xfinity Series races, thanks to the network’s knack for mixing things up by bringing in big-name Cup drivers to the commentary box. Ryan Blaney and Rick Stenhouse Jr chipped in with their insights on Fox Sports One’s daily scoop show, while Eric Jones broke new ground with his first gig on a national race broadcast that year.

Pushing the envelope, FOX Sports is at it again in 2024, rolling out the red carpet for its dream team of NASCAR hotshots for the NASCAR Xfinity Series broadcast. This time, Brad Keselowski and Austin Dillon are grabbing the mic, with Regan Smith and Josh Sims hitting the pavement for the inside scoop.

Jim Utter from motorsports.com let the news out with a tweet saying, “.@NASCARONFOX will continue to use active #NASCAR Cup Series drivers in the FS1 booth for all Xfinity Series race broadcasts this season alongside play-by-announcer Adam Alexander. At Daytona, Alexander will be joined by Cup champion Brad @keselowski and @austindillon3.” And get this: Brad Keselowski even lent his voice to the NASCAR Mexico Series race on FS1.

Up for another tidbit from the past? During the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Joey Logano and Kurt Busch joined forces with Adam Alexander, while Jamie Little and Regan Smith were all over the pit road like a rash. But this cool trend isn’t just sticking to the Xfinity Series; it has made waves in the NASCAR Truck Series too.

FOX Sports shook things up by bringing in current racers to don the commentator’s cap, alongside guest pundits in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series commentary box, with Welch and Waltrip leading the charge back in 2021. That year, FOX Sports rolled out the red carpet for a whole crew of more than a dozen NASCAR Cup Series pros, past drivers, or pit bosses during the 2021 Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series circuits.

The lineup saw new faces like Tony Stewart, Drew Blickensderfer, Tyler Reddick, and Daniel Suarez stepping into the analyst spotlight for the first time. Back in the day, Austin Dillon joined forces with Vince Welch and Michael Waltrip to cover the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Las Vegas.

Fast forward to 2024, and Alexander, alongside Little, the trailblazing female voice in NASCAR commentary, is set to tag team the play-by-play for FOX NASCAR’s 22nd lap around the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Alexander kicks things off at Daytona on Friday, Feb. 16 on FS1, flanked by analysts Waltrip and Phil Parsons, while Amanda Busick and Smith are hitting the pits for the inside scoop.
