Earlier, McLaren Formula 1 CEO Zak Brown made a bet with driver Daniel Ricciardo. If the Australian driver got a podium, he would get a chance to drive Dale Earnhardt’s car. Ricciardo went one better and grabbed an unexpected win, so Brown delivered on his promise. Now, Team Penske driver Brad Keselowski is hoping to get some F1 action.
He tweeted to Ricciardo, hoping for a car swap. However, the 2012 Cup Series champion had a specific car in mind. To be precise, Keselowski would love to get his hands on Ayrton Senna’s 1991 Marlboro McLaren-Honda MP4/6. This was the car that the legendary Brazilian drove to 2nd on the grid for the Japanese Grand Prix and his third and final title.
Obviously, the late Senna was greatly admired by many in the motorsports world. So it isn’t surprising that a NASCAR driver like Brad Keselowski wants to sample one of his famous McLaren cars. With Ricciardo at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend for the US Grand Prix, there is no better chance for the Penske driver.

What next for Brad Keselowski?
Currently, Keselowski is gunning for the 2021 Cup Series championship. With two races left until the season finale, he sits in 6th place, two away from the qualification berth. What works in his favor is the fact that he won at Kansas in 2011 and at Martinsville in 2017 and 2019.
In other words, he has an excellent chance of snatching a win and stealing the second berth. However, he will definitely face stern competition from the likes of teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney. Even Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Martin Truex Jr, and Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott, will be on the hunt. Keselowski knows that he will have a tough fight on his hands, but he will be up for the challenge.
