After his win at Talladega, Brad Keselowski will start in pole position for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway this Sunday. Joining him on the front row will be William Byron, who has been quite consistent this year and also finished behind Keselowski in second at Talladega.
Michael McDowell’s brilliant surge to the top of the field on numerous occasions this season was on display at Talladega as well. He came close to his second win in 2021 on Sunday but had to settle for third.

He will start the Kansas race in third place, while Kevin Harvick and Matt DiBenedetto finish the top-five spots.

Chase Elliott had another unfortunate day at Talladega and will start in 17th place at Kansas. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin, who has been on the front row for most races all season, starts in 20th place at Kansas after a tough Talladega race. Both these drivers are expected to reach the front soon into the race.
Meanwhile, Alex Bowman will start in 25th, and Joey Logano, whose Talladega race was ended by the Stage 1 crash, starts in 29th. Kyle Larson could race just eight laps on Sunday before his engine blew up, starts in 32nd place at Kansas.

After nine different winners across the opening 10 races of the season, Kansas provides a chance for another driver to book his playoff spot. As the track returns in the playoffs, it holds a lot of importance every season.
Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano will be particularly confident going into the Kansas race. Hamlin won the regular-season race there in July last year, while Logano won the Round of 8 playoff race in October 2020.

Hamlin currently leads the Cup Series points table with 446 points, with Martin Truex Jr. behind him in second place with 359 points. Harvick (7th) and Elliott (8th) are the only winless drivers, apart from Hamlin, currently in the top-10 on points.
