During the podcast, Steve Letarte reflected on his initial uncertainty about Chris Buescher’s potential and admitted difficulty in assessing Chris Buescher during the early days, emphasizing the challenges of gauging drivers’ abilities solely from a distance.

However, Letarte contrasted his viewpoint with Brad Keselowski‘s unwavering support for Buescher, stating, “But if you go back to Brad Keselowski, there hasn’t been one quote, one moment, one sentence where he isn’t saying that Chris Buescher is the man.”

Steve Letarte questioned Brad Keselowski’s consistent praise of Chris Buescher, initially attributing it to team building. He wondered if Keselowski was, in fact, foretelling Buescher’s underestimated talent by asserting, “‘You just wait, that guy is way better than you think. You just wait.'”

Steve Letarte compared the situation to doubts about Jimmie Johnson‘s potential, as Jeff Gordon endorsed him for Hendrick Motorsports. Letarte recalled skepticism due to Johnson’s past struggles, quoting, “Why would we want Jimmie Johnson at Hendrick Motorsports? Well, you know, seven championships. It sounds like Jeff Gordon’s a pretty good judge of talent.” Brad Keselowski’s consistent support of Chris Buescher resembles Jeff Gordon’s endorsement of Jimmie Johnson, who went on to win seven championships, underlining Keselowski’s potential talent judgment.
