It was a teary night for Michael Jordan’s prodigy, Bubba Wallace. The driver, for the first time in his Cup Series career, had been able to qualify for the Round of 12. Bubba Wallace was able to rise above the cutline as he collected the stage points, out-maneuvered two former Cup Series champions, and punched his tickets for the Round of 12.
It is safe to say that one can expect the unexpected as NASCAR heads toward the second stage of the playoffs. One such unexpected is none other than RFK Racing, which has risen to the title of underdog. However, the question is whether Brad Keselowski and his teammate will be able to hold onto this position or whether the winning streak will come to a halt. Well, the answer lies in the recent interview.

If the night race at Bristol is taken into consideration, it was regular season champions Martin Truex Jr. and Bubba Wallace who were facing the brunt of the elimination. However, in the sudden turn of events, Joey Logano crashed out of the race while Kevin Harvick continued to struggle with his No. 4 Ford car.
The struggles of both Ford drivers added to the advantage of the Toyotas as they glided into the second round of the playoffs. Yet, it was not just Bubba Wallace who savored his advancement; RFK Racing’s emerging prodigy, Chris Buescher, did as well. After three clinical victories in the regular season, the young prodigy has also, for the first time, qualified for the Round of 12.
Brad Keselowski’s prodigy, who dealt with a broken tire in Kansas, was also able to fend off his position in Bristol and stay above the cutline. Nevertheless, with NASCAR moving to Buescher’s home track on Sunday’s Round of 12 opening race, veteran journalist Bob Pockrass seized the opportunity to interview Chris Buescher and to make him spill the beans as he competes for the title in the next half of the season for the first time.
Asking about receiving advice and his hopes to earn a title, Buescher divulged, “I think the biggest piece of advice has been that it does not get any easier, and this is gonna be a challenge throughout the whole thing. We obviously have been very competitive, come a long way, feel like we have some very good tracks ahead of us. At Texas, we were very fast last year, Brad actually got pole there and ran very well in the race.”

“Talladega will be obviously very fast and the Roval has been very good. Looking at this round, knowing we have good tracks, it is a matter of putting together good races and standing what we have been up to.”

The 2023 season was a monumental leap for Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing that he co-owns. After struggling for over a year, the team has been able to take charge of their reigns. One can surely thank Chris Buescher for that. However, if the past statistics are taken into account, the driver has struggled to find traction on the track of Texas and has failed to earn a position within the top 10.
With that being said, Buescher continuing on the same lines expressed, “It’s gonna be very challenging. The first round won’t say we thought would be easy but certainly didn’t feel like it was a real challenge. Kansas really threw a curveball at us there and got us.”
“Just way less comfortable than we were heading toward Bristol, so anything like that can happen and we know that and I think that’s what the advice has been, you guys stay after it, and no part of it is going to be any easier.”
