Consistency is key for Brad Keselowski. Throw in a victory at the 2024 Goodyear 400, and that books him a spot in the playoffs. With eight top-5 finishes this season, Keselowski is at P8 in the standings and also the second-fastest Ford on the grid. However, he has 3 playoff points, which pale in comparison to Kyle Larson’s 35, but that doesn’t mean anything right now.
Once the playoffs take off, the real race will begin. But what the Keselowski fans want to know is what goes on in a driver’s mind once the playoffs begin, and Brad Keselowski is not one to keep his thoughts a secret. He recently was a part of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio to speak about how he and the team were preparing themselves mentally for another shot at the championship.

The way teams operate during the regular season is quite different from the playoffs. It’s often time, as Brad Keselowski explains, to play it safe compared to the playoffs, where it’s go hard or go home. Keselowski was asked about the change in the team’s mentality after knowing that they were in the playoffs.

Brad Keselowski explained, “You know, not a tremendous amount. I like to feel like we put a lot of emphasis on race. Regardless of our little playoffs or not, you know, there’s maybe a little more information available and things of that nature, but it’s not a staggering amount.
Explaining how the team changes the way they operate, he said, “I think probably more so for the team; get changes; you know, it’s no longer the hey, we’re going to save this car, we’re going to save this part, or this widget. You know, it’s everything’s out there; everything’s, you know, on kill.”
The RFK Racing co-owner then spoke about his mindset during the races, saying, “I feel like it’s more to just continue to do the things we’ve been doing or I’ve been doing to study and prepare.” The RFK Racing driver is not only thinking for himself, as he has analyzed the mistakes that other teams make.”

He also pointed out the main problem of other teams as he said, “You know, I think the natural tendency, and this gets really dangerous in the playoffs, is to say, “Oh, I’m going to have it up and find a little bit more.” Keselowski says that this is “super dangerous,” as he explained that that way, teams are not giving it their all during the regular season, and then there is added pressure if they make it into the playoffs because now they need to step up their game.
Brad Keselowski is all about good news now, as the playoffs are not the only thing going for him.

Speed and drama make up 100% of what makes fans love NASCAR. The only other thing that fans enjoy as much as seeing the races is the silly season. 2025 is building up to be one interesting season already, as Stewart Haas Racing is selling 3 charters, and 4th is retained by Gene Haas for the Haas Factory Team. SHR has already sold two charters, with one going to Trackhouse Racing and Front Row Motorsports taking the other.
Recently, 23XI Racing mentioned their interest in a SHR charter, but they are not the only ones looking to expand. Brad Keselowski has been extremely vocal in the last week about wanting an extra car, and with only 1 charter open for sale at the moment, the question stands: which team will take the chance and bring in the SHR charter?
According to Bob Pockrass, Brad Keselowski has teased the idea of adding a new charter. The co-owner of RFK Racing kept it vague by saying, “Not today, but hopefully soon.” The team has been racing with 2 cars since 2017, and now they feel like a new car can be added to the team.
