RFK Racing currently has 2 full-time charters in the Cup Series and a third part-time charter in the No. 60 car. While there have been no official announcements about running a full-time charter in 2025, there have been rumors around the infield. Although there is no official announcement, at Homestead, RFK Racing did drop a teaser about extending a charter, and fans are on the edge of their seats to know if this is true.
As of now, RFK Racing is 6th in the team standings with 2 wins this season. With just two cars running for the team, it is difficult to compete against a full stack like Hendrick Motorsports, who are currently leading the standings with 11 victories among all 4 drivers. So with the need for more winnable cars, there have been rumors that RFK Racing might get their No. 60 as a full-time car and it might just be Tony Stewart’s driver who will pilot the car.

RFK Racing is not having the best seasons despite bringing Brad Keselowski into the co-owner circle back in 2022. Keselowski is an experienced driver who is often found racing in the playoffs, and although he won the 2012 Cup Series title, he has found it hard to bring that momentum into his team.
According to a post on X, a fan addressed Bob Pockrass from Fox Sports as he had a question for the NASCAR journalist. In the post, the fan asked, “@bobpockrass On Sirius XM, Brad Moran says Preece stayed at Homestead and tested the #60 car, which is his ride next year. RFK owns the #60 as Joey Hand raced it this year. Still no announcement from @keselowski?”

So, over on Sirius XM, Brad Moran spilled some beans about Ryan Preece. He revealed that Preece stuck around at Homestead to test out the #60 car, which he’ll be driving next season. That ride is owned by RFK, previously piloted by Joey Hand this year. Meanwhile, there’s still been no word from
Brad Keselowski about the team’s plans. With the Managing Director of the NASCAR Cup Series being referred to as the source of knowing that Ryan Preece was driving for RFK, it is not something that can be taken lightly. To clear out all the doubts from the fans, Pockrass replied to the post.
Pockrass put out a response post to the above, saying, “Brad said last week he still didn’t have anything to say yet about a third car. Preece testing an RFK car yesterday at the wet weather test at Homestead (just an early exploratory test to see how the tires react) is another sign that will happen. Possible charter through RWR.”

Last week, Brad hinted he didn’t have updates on a potential third car, but Preece’s recent test at the wet weather session seems to hint that something’s brewing. From what Pockrass says, it sounds like they’re just experimenting with how the tires handle, but it definitely points to some exciting developments ahead, possibly even snagging a charter through RWR.
Although there is a lot going on within the team, the drivers are ready for the upcoming race at Martinsville. Let’s dive into what RFK Racing has in store for the second-last race of the season.

RFK Racing is hitting the road for Martinsville II on November 3rd, and it’s a big one in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Known as a tough short track with no room for mistakes, Martinsville has treated RFK pretty well in the past. Brad Keselowski, who’s won here twice and has stacked up 17 top-10 finishes across 29 starts, is looking to keep that momentum going.

Meanwhile, Chris Buescher, who’s got a couple of top-10 finishes here, is aiming to step up his recent race results. Speaking after looking at the numbers, Keselowski’s experience at Martinsville shines, but Buescher’s 18 starts show he’s no rookie to the track either. For RFK overall, Martinsville has been friendly with four total Cup wins—the last of those, though, was way back in 2002.
But it’s not all smooth sailing as both drivers have had their ups and downs this season, and Keselowski’s recent 24th place finish raises questions on what they can bring in this high-stakes race. Martinsville is the second-to-last race of the season, so there’s a lot on the line here. Qualifying strong is key, and both RFK drivers are determined to get good starting spots.
