Did you catch that Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on Netflix? Well, Jake Paul earned the unanimous decision win in a mostly dull encounter. Both boxers went toe-to-toe for all eight rounds of their professional boxing bout sanctioned under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
It was quite a dominating display for ‘The Problem Child’, who now dawns a proud 11-1 professional record. The entire spectacle reportedly earned him a jaw-dropping $40 million payday. For perspective, that’s almost half of his estimated $80 million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth. With money like that involved, it’s no surprise a boxer-youtuber-actor-social media influencer icon like Paul has his investments settled in all the right places. For those who know about his financial involvement in NASCAR, however, it’s clear he’s not just cashing in on fame—he’s making moves that potentially hint at a future in stock car racing.
MBM Motorsports #66 ‘W’ car could pave the way for Jake Paul in NASCAR

Back at the Southern 500 earlier this season, Jake Paul’s men’s healthcare brand, ‘W,’ made a bold debut in NASCAR by teaming up with Statesville-based MBM Motorsports. As the primary sponsor of their #66 Cup car, the partnership brought fresh energy to the decade-strong NASCAR team with a special red-white-and-blue paint scheme for a one-off outing. For the unversed, ‘W’ came into existence only a few months ago in June, and has since grown to a valuation of over $150 million.
But to bring his brand into the eyes of the NASCAR community, Jake Paul and Co. made MBM’s #66 car their rolling billboard at the ‘Track Too Tough to Tame’. The Southern 500 was one of the best places they could’ve chosen to showcase their product to the NASCAR public. After all, the crown jewel race is one of the biggest must-watch events each year in the stock car calendar. So, for the first time in NASCAR, journeyman driver from Maryland, Timmy Hill had the chance to drive the “Get W at Walmart” car in Darlington.
Unfortunately, Hill’s day ended early after steering issues on his Ford forced him to the garage, leaving him with a 35th-place finish. But for a better perspective, MBM’s part-time #66 has hit the track 13 times this season, and not once has it made the top 25. That is not a good look for the underdog team. Regardless, owner Carl Long, a former driver in his day, officially stated that he was “excited to bring W to the sport and give them great exposure both on and off the track with Timmy.” And for 268 laps they did.

What’s your perspective on:
Could Jake Paul actually make waves in NASCAR, or is it just another flashy distraction?
Have an interesting take?
Although there has been no official word on when we could see ‘W’ make another appearance in NASCAR, it would appear the Paul brothers aren’t new associates of Carl Long. In 2022, Logan Paul tried his hand in the stock car racing market with Prime Hydration sponsoring Timmy Hill and MBM Motorsports’ #13 Xfinity Series car at Charlotte. Those were some interesting times. But could their affiliation go to the next level, with perhaps Jake or Logan getting behind the wheel of an MBM machine in an actual NASCAR race?
For the record, Jake Paul has stated more than once that he might be open to the idea. Maybe, when the time is right, NASCAR could be a sport the younger Paul brother picks to dominate like he has done in the case of boxing. But make no mistake, stock car racing is a different type of beast altogether. In the buildup to his fight against former UFC champ Tyron Woodley, the 27-year-old had appeared on the Gareth A. Davies show, and said, “You know I have wondered what do I do after boxing? I’ve thought about NFL, I’ve thought about NASCAR…”
And that wasn’t the first time, either. A couple of years ago, he had baffled Stephen A. Smith in an interview for ESPN, predicting,
“I’m gonna go 10-0, maybe 12-0 as a boxer. And then I’m either going to go to MMA or to the NFL… Maybe NASCAR, you know? So, I just got a lot of options. I’m just going to go with the flow.” With his MBM Motorsports partnership now a logical reality, that could very well be Jake Paul’s key to a NASCAR ride. But as of now, all of that is only speculation. However, there’s no question that the money and audience he brings would easily help him land an ARCA ride wherever, whenever. But would it go down well with the collective NASCAR community? If the fan opinions on social media were to paint a realistic picture after Paul’s win against Mike Tyson, he might have a few ways to go if he’s hoping to connect full-time with the NASCAR faithful.

When NASCAR news page @motorstardom posted an image of the #66 car at Darlington backed by W with a graphic announcing Jake Paul’s win on Instagram, the grandstands had a field day with it. One fan expressed his disgust at the pay-per-view main event and wrote, “That was a waste of 30 minutes of my life!” Another joined the discussions to add to that sentiment, commenting, “So fake.” One member of the NASCAR community made quite an astounding comparison when they left a reply that read, “Townley vs Gallagher was better.“
This diehard was referring to that one time when John Wes Townley and Spencer Gallagher went to blows against each other after an incident ended their respective truck races next to each other early at Gateway in 2016. The NASCAR nation remembers that scuffle with a pinch of humor. Others on the same train of thought as the earlier fan, mused, “BREAKING: Jake Paul to fight Red Farmer.”
Red Farmer is a 92-year-old NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, known for his incredible longevity. He is the oldest living member of the notorious ‘Alabama Gang,’ and can still be seen taking his Late Model for a spin every once in a while. But at that ripe age, it probably would not serve Mr. Farmer any favors to get in the ring with a trained boxer like Jake Paul, who walks around weighing an excess of 200 pounds.
However, one user, in particular, took a hilarious dig at Netflix’s sub-par coverage of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul, and stated, “I want to apologize to Fox. I didn’t realize coverage could be worse.” It would appear this fan tried to kill two birds with one stone with that reaching comment. FOX’s annual coverage of NASCAR has received a lot of flak from racing fans for the longest time.
This season, they’ve been up to their broadcast day blunders more often than once, and the fans have been in the broadcast giant’s ears with their complaints for most of their coverage tenure. But overall, the entire ordeal gave the sport of NASCAR a much-needed respite in this uneventful 2024 off-season. And for that, all credit must go to the men of the moment—Jake Paul and “Iron” Mike Tyson. What did you make of their boxing bout? Tell us in the comment section below!
