Erik Jones is one of those free agents for the 2021 season who are still on the hunt for a seat. The likes of Hendrick Motorsports or Chip Ganassi Racing come to mind as potential destinations for the 24-year-old driver.
Erik Jones opened up about the same in a recent interview, he said, “There is stuff going on, we have been in a lot of talks with different teams and trying to find an opportunity. It’s a tough environment. There’s definitely teams that are struggling to find sponsorship and to find money.”
“It’s challenging, but like I said there are big rides out there, and hopefully, I can get an opportunity with one of them and built a relationship with sponsors to go out and be a contender.”

Strong Finish for Erik Jones at Bristol
Erik Jones is the driver of the No. 20 Toyota for the Joe Gibbs Racing team. The 24-year-old racer won’t be driving for the Joe Gibbs Racing group in 2021. The group has headed out in different directions with the driver, despite the fact that he is having a pretty decent 2020 NASCAR season with 7 top-5 finishes.
Jones finished third during Saturday night’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race 500 at the Bristol Motor Speedway. He began the race from the back of the field as his vehicle fizzled pre-race review twice. Jones was able to make a solid rebound as he completed stage 1 in the sixteenth position. Before the finish of stage 2, Jones was in the top 10. He completed the second stage in the ninth position.

While his teammate Kyle Busch was battling for his first victory of the season with Kevin Harvick, Jones completed the race in the third position. This matches his best finish of the season.
