At the Darlington Raceway, Chase Elliott enjoyed a 5th-place finish for Hendrick Motorsports. In light of this, his sponsor Hooters made an enticing offer for customers. To be precise, fans could eat free fried pickles or 10 free boneless chicken wings with any purchase of 10 wings. However, the offer was only valid if he finished in the Top 10. But since he was 5th, the offer was definitely on.

Other caveats included customers dining in and purchasing a beverage and the offer was only available on that Monday race weekend. Naturally, it would ensure that Chase Elliott’s fans and Hooters customers would flock to restaurants. Elliott scores a good finish, his fans and customers get a good meal and free perks, and the restaurant chain gets good business; a win-win for all.

What next for Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott?

For the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, the #9 driver is leading the regular season standings. However, teammate William Byron is breathing down his neck, with Penske duo Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano behind them. Finally, Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain rounded out the tail of the Top 5.

Each of them, with the exception of Blaney, have secured their Playoff berth with a win each. Other drivers confirmed for the Playoffs are Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric and Denny Hamlin. All in all, nine drivers have filled up the 16 slots, leaving the remaining 7 up for grabs.

Currently, Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Christopher Bell, Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola are primed for a slot. Even Austin Dillon and Tyler Reddick could be in with a shout of a Playoff spot. So far, Reddick and Dillon have looked pretty impressive, but often failed to go all the way to Victory Lane. So, both of them have got a lot to lose, as do many of their rivals. For Aric Almirola, it will be his last ever attempt to make the Playoffs, with him retiring at the end of the season.
