One such driver who was involved this year has confirmed his desire to compete in the United States. Following his debut victory in Chicago, several rumors linking him to a move to NASCAR kicked off. Ideally, his contract with his current team Triple Eight Race Engineering runs out in 2024. However, given the strong rumors, even his team’s principal Jamie Whincup admitted having set a deadline for him to come to a decision.

Shane van Gisbergen is set to make his second appearance in NASCAR in August with his participation in the Indianapolis race for Trackhouse Racing. While this had fuelled the possibility of his ambition to join the sport, the pressure has been mounting ever since to commit.
