“Better Race Car Driver Than Crew Chief” – Tony Stewart Laughs at His Expense as He Returns to Michigan Racetrack

The SRX Racing Series, in its triumphant third season, has been revolutionizing the motorsport landscape over the past three weeks. In a recent interview, the NASCAR legend discussed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Berlin race, which holds a special place in his heart.

Tony Stewart is ready to tackle a dirt race at Berlin Raceway

During the interview, the SRX co-owner playfully joked about his crew chief skills with a candid admission that he’s a better driver than a crew chief.

“I did not do a good job as a crew chief for my own car. So, I thought that I’m a better race car driver than a crew chief.” he admitted.

Stewart also discussed recent developments, acknowledging that they learned from their past actions and implemented different adjustments through a new approach. Despite the challenges, he was determined to “keep working at it.” He also expressed excitement about the upcoming event at the Berlin Raceway, known for its technical and outdoor appeal.

“We have one more pavement race, and then we get to my favorite path, where we get to run this thing on dirt again. So, I’m looking forward to going to Berlin. Berlin is a really cool technical racetrack, and obviously, outdoor. It’s going to be a lot of fun running those dirt races.” the 2021 SRX Series Champ added.
