Without a doubt, Jeff Gordon is a bona fide NASCAR legend. He has enjoyed a long and successful career in the Cup Series, walking away with four titles. In addition to that, he has bagged 93 career wins and many other incredible statistics. However, there is one particular stat, which was truly impressive. As it turned out, the Martinsville Speedway was one of his happy hunting grounds, and he excelled over there.
Out of 22,890 potential laps at the short track, Gordon completed 22,769 of them. In essence, the former Hendrick Motorsports star had completed 99.5% of laps at the venue. This would pretty much be enough to guarantee him the title of ‘Mr. Consistent’. Although he missed out by a mere 121 laps from achieving a 100% completion rate, this statistic is nothing to sniff at. Naturally, a number of Jeff Gordon Fans marveled at this insane feat.

How did Jeff Gordon fans react to this statistic?
According to some fans, they knew that Martinsville was a track where Gordon had a chance to win. Rather poetically, Martinsville was the venue of his last Cup Series win and his last-ever race. The best part was that he never faced a single DNF at the Martinsville Speedway. Safe to say, the venue was a real lucky charm for the 4-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.
If that 121 laps he didn't run was one race where he had issues, that's more impressive.
No DVP clock in his era so they could fix damn near anything.

Martinsville is my favorite track because as a Jeff Gordon fan, you knew the chance of him winning there especially in the later years was real high.

Very fitting his last Cup race was there. Final win too.

Whatever one may say about him, at this particular race track, Jeff Gordon was truly the GOAT. Coming away with a grand total of 477 Top 10 finishes in his overall Cup career is also eye-watering. Finally, he rounded things off with a total of 81 pole positions in his career. As for his other exploits, he also racked up five Xfinity Series wins, 32 Top 10s, and 12 pole positions.
Was never a huge fan of Gordon but he was always up front at martinsville from what I remember. Impressive
