Racing on speedways has always required a degree of team effort to lunge to the top of the field. However, Denny Hamlin recently revealed how that is not exactly the case. In order to explain his statement further, he took the example of Kyle Busch’s number 1 enemy, Joey Logano. Hamlin explained how Logano performed so well ahead of the field on tracks like these.

During his “Actions Detrimental” podcast, Hamlin stated, “We actually work with each other more than we do not on speedways. Believe it or not you. You don’t see much on TV. But we do, let’s just say we use each other. We use each other. We’re not trying to help the other person. But we certainly are using each other to maintain our track position up front.”

Talking about Logano, the JGR driver said, “So, Logano and his team do a good job of staying up front. They usually do. But individually? I’ve seen that times when Logano has shown a little … that he’s vincible when he doesn’t have his teammates for sure.”

What is the feud between Joey Logano and Kyle Busch?

Both drivers have been involved in on- and off-track altercations in the past. However, one of the most famous ones was back in 2017. After Busch was spun out by rival Logano at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Rowdy decided to take matters into his own hands and get hands-on with the Team Penske driver.

Busch marched out of his car—vengeful and focussed. He walked up straight to Logano’s pit area and threw a punch at him. Right after, an all-out brawl exploded between the two drivers and their respective pit crews. It was complete mayhem!

After the fight was broken up, Busch emerged with blood on his face. One might think this was the end of things between them. However, as luck would have it, the pair had become sworn enemies on the track.

Fast forward to 2023, ahead of the start of the main season, Logano once again spun Rowdy around. This time it was during the exhibition Clash at the LA Coliseum. Following the race, Busch said that he believed that Logano was “two-faced,” What’s even more interesting is that later in the week, Logano appeared on another podcast and agreed that he is in fact two-faced.
