When Kevin Harvick announced his retirement this year he did so because he wanted to spend more time working on the career of his son, Keelan. But it looks like he will have to nurture one more racer in the family as well. 6-year-old Piper Harvick made her debut behind the wheel back in July, driving go-karts. While her brother has been making some strong marks in grassroots-level racing that would someday take him to the circuits of Europe, she has been steadily following in his footsteps.

The Harvick family was recently at the Trackhouse Motorplex for a race that Piper was to participate in. A photo of hers shared by Kevin has left fans in awe of the focus that she carries.

On Sunday, Kevin Harvick put up some pictures on his “X” handle of himself, Keelan, and Piper discussing racing strategies at the Trackhouse Motorplex. The icon had chosen to be there for his daughter’s race over going to Florida for the Snowball Derby. He said earlier during the schedule announcement for the CARS Tour, “We’re going to be racing with Piper at Trackhouse Motorplex. We’ll watch her this weekend and go home to watch Ryan race on Racing America.”

His choice seems to have paid off well with the commitment that Piper has displayed. During Piper’s race day, Harvick shared a picture of the girl staring straight into the camera with her “game face” on. The intensity and purpose that were very much visible in her eyes have drawn the admiration of fans. Kevin Harvick himself captioned the post, “She’s intense.”

Fans love Piper Harvick’s “Eye of the Tiger” during a go-karting event

Piper Harvick made her debut back in July at the Trackhouse Motorplex in the Kid Kart division. Coming out the best in class with a first-place finish, she made it clear that speed ran in her blood. The kid further drew a lot of praise for her appearance in a fun video from the Stewart-Haas Racing crew that showed her bossing around the #4 team.

What had fans in love with her was her self-introduction claiming, “I wear the firesuit in this family.” The words were a jab at Joey Logano who’d said years back at Pocono after an argument with Kevin Harvick, “You know, his wife wears the firesuit in the family. She tells him what to do.”

Kevin Harvick’s latest post from the Motorplex had fans more in awe of her spirit and character. Her intensity was reflected rightly to a fan who wrote, “She is bad to the bone”. Her focus reminding many of her father, more comments flowed in comparing the duo. Another wrote, “Piper means business… Holy smokes look at that intensity!”. Following her father and brother into the racing world, there isn’t much doubt about what she’ll be able to do in a race car. Identifying the potential threat, one comment read, “Biffle, Rudd, and Nemecheck better watch out”.

Piper’s focus rendered her to have the “Eye of the tiger right there” to many. Turning 6 years old on December 28, she will have the complete attention of Kevin Harvick to advance her career as a racer should she want to. A young driver cannot be under better guidance. Hopefully, we will see more than just Keelan living up to Kevin’s name in racing in the future.
