Last weekend was a great day in the office for Team Penske at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Will Power set the ball rolling when he won the IndyCar race at the road course. Later on in the Xfinity Series, Austin Cindric made it a double delight for Penske with his own win.
Recently, he spoke about the triumph at IMS, a track that Team Penske owns. He said, “Obviously a pretty huge weekend for us. Sweeping Saturday, Will Power winning for us in IndyCar definitely put some pressure on the Xfinity team.
“We got it done there, so that’s just as much of a relief as it is excitement for me.”

Austin Cindric also spoke about the Xfinity Series championship battle. The Penske driver insisted that no championship can be decided until the season finale at Phoenix. He can only focus on the title race once he reaches the final 4 at the season finale. And it is with that same mentality that he and the team took the title last year.
What else did Austin Cindric say?

If Cindric wins the championship again, he will be the latest Xfinity driver to win consecutive titles. He will also join Randy LaJoie, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Martin Truex Jr, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and Tyler Reddick, who performed the same feat. According to him, it is difficult to consider himself a title favorite without making it to the final 4. With the regular-season finale approaching, everything is to play for, so he is highly motivated to win the regular season as well.
Austin Cindric then spoke about his 2022 Cup Series debut. He confessed that he tried hard to not overthink his official debut for Team Penske. This is largely because he has more important matters to worry about, namely the championship.
