Aside from the torrential rains that are expected to lash out near Los Angeles, the 2024 Cup Series season is poised for a great start with drivers like Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, and more, battling each other in the pre-season exhibition race to get off on the right foot. But as time goes on, veteran Keselowski is shouldering more responsibility ever since he bought his way into the Ford camp.
That brings us to the million-dollar question. With the driver probably looking to ride into the warm sunset right before he sets up a solid foundation for RFK Racing for his drivers to make the dream come true, will this be the final Daytona ride for the 39-year-old?

Addressing the rumors surrounding his retirement
There are a number of veterans in NASCAR over and nearing the age of 40. Brad Keselowski and his former rival, Kyle Busch, are two individuals whose retirement speculations have been shooting up every season. While Busch is one year younger than the 2012 Cup Series champion, the fandom has been discussing Keselowski’s retirement plans. So, let us address the elephant in the room and set a narrative before the 2024 season gets underway.
While the veteran hasn’t confirmed anything about his retirement, with his strategic role in the re-surging RFK camp, chances are he might hang up his boots in a few years. But will be sooner than we anticipate? Probably not. In fact, the driver has actually addressed this, but in a vague manner.
According to Heavy.com, Keselowski, who broke the scene with his RFK Racing tie-up in 2022, said that he will retire when he can’t pursue a NASCAR Cup Series championship. Reflecting on the question during the July 20 presser 2 years ago, he has made it clear that he has five to ten years in his window till he sees himself as an RFK executive, doing his best to make his drivers feel at home and taking the Ford camp into the halls of NASCAR.

According to NASCAR news, he said, “I think I can win races and be competitive for another 10 years and that’s really what I want to do. I want to win races and win more championships. I’m certainly very committed to doing that. I don’t know where (the retirement rumors) came from, but if it’s on the internet, it must be true.” Will this upcoming event in Daytona be Keselowski’s last outing at the 2.5-mile speedway?

Most likely not, but it’s never an impossibility considering his commandeering position on the team and the responsibility that rides on him. However, with a stellar win at the iconic venue in 2022, Keselowski will most probably be looking to add a few more to his resume before he bows out.
