ARCA Announces Contingency Plan to Save Daytona Opener Amid Severe Crisis Concerns

The ARCA Menards season opener is all set for its opening race at Daytona on Saturday. However, there is now speculation resembling the Busch Light Clash schedule change a few weeks back. It seems that, once again, Mother Nature may not side with the racers’ aspirations on Saturday.

Being no stranger to bad weather hampering races, ARCA officials have a contingency in place. Should ain decide to spoil the party, fans may have to brace themselves for another rescheduled race.

NASCAR reporter Chris Knight recently tweeted, “ARCA announces that in the event of inclement weather on Saturday and their race is postponed, their event although a “moving target” is slated for 9:00 am Monday.”

With the exception of a contingency reportedly being put in place, the situation is not dissimilar to when the Busch Light Clash was pulled back on less than a day’s notice. Racers and broadcasters had to tweak their schedules with merely hours’ worth of time at hand. Time was of the utmost importance then, to avoid the race clashing with stormy weather forecasted later on the same day.

As a result of the update, fans now seek clarity with the obvious inconvenience stemming from the race being potentially rescheduled.

Commenting on Knight’s tweet, a fan expressed their concern, wanting to know when the race will happen. “So is the Arca race postponed ?”

With the Xfinity race set to happen right after, another fan asked, “Any word on when Xfinity would be postponed to?”

With the real possibility of the race being postponed, one fan compared ARCA’s pro-activeness to NASCAR’s lack of it. “Gee ARCA can alert fans of possibilities! WOW Why cant NASCAR?”

The bad weather may cloud over all three races. That brings in the possibility of all the races clumped into one single day. One fan said, “Three races on a Monday?  Damn. I’ll be at work.”

The talents that we will be seeing at the Daytona ARCA 200 are what we wholeheartedly wait for. They include some new drivers who are slowly establishing themselves on the racetrack. Mandy Chick delivered an impressive show and finished fifth place in 2023 at the 2.5-mile tri-oval. Driving her family-owned No. 74 Chevrolet SS this year as well, she is set to begin her 2024 campaign on a high note.

Similarly, Christian Rose will return to ARCA after a rookie season with AM Racing last year. He had two top-five and 13 top-10 finishes to brag about in 2023.

Toni Breidinger, the model-turned-racer and social media giant, also plans to bring home some impressive accolades this year. In 2023 she finished ninth place, with her first career top-five finish and a P3 finish at Kansas. In 2024 she hopes to bank on her adjustment to new cars and tracks under Venturini Motorsports.

With so many talented racers taking the wheel at ARCA, a little weather trouble would not be much of a hindrance.
