Dale Earnhardt Jr is a prolific name in the racing world. He has achieved everything that makes one stand in the ranks of legends. From numerous championships or pole positions, he has done it all to etch his name in NASCAR history. But recently Dale found himself amidst a different kind of race—one against his own emotions!

Dale Earnhardt attended a milestone event for his daughter, her kindergarten graduation. And while he himself has had various milestones in his life, this was one filled with fatherly love and emotions.

At the event, little did he expect the wave of emotions that was going to hit him as he actually had tears pooling up in his eyes. Talking about the same, he revealed on his podcast, I mean, my, my eyes filling up with water. It’s getting close to cresting. I look over at Amy. Oh, she’s lost it. They’re already down her face.” But while here there was no safety car to the rescue, he had to find a solution. The solution—looking up to make room for the tears! But after he held back his tears, he looked around to see if there was “any other man in here crying”? Well, we don’t know about others, but this just shows the tender side of an otherwise extremely headstrong person.

The moment he saw his little girl taking the first “big girl” steps, he just couldn’t hold back the tears. And all parents can agree that everyone has gone through this at one point. Dale Earnhardt Jr. even mentioned how special it was to open his child’s yearbook and go through the pictures, showcasing the overall growth of his daughter. He said, “But man when you open up a yearbook and see your child’s picture in there, that’s a pretty cool moment.”

Later on, he also congratulated his beautiful daughter and even gave her the message– “Daddy is proud of you”. Bu, it seems even little Isla was worried about him as he asked, “Did you cry?” But that is not the only awesome thing that happened with Dale Earnhardt Jr because he had some more exciting things to share about his broadcasting tie-up with Amazon and TNT.

Now that the news of Dale Earnhardt Junior’s venture with Amazon Prime and TNT is out in the open, the veteran shared some interesting updates. He mentioned that they’re gearing up for a 10-race summer block with Amazon covering five races with the Coca-Cola 600 and TNT kicking off in Atlanta.

In the same podcast, he also gave audiences a glimpse of what they can expect from his broadcast partnership. Dale Earnhardt looked back on the way CBS handled the starting grid in the 1980s.

He said, “I think that the starting grid has never been done better than it was for CBS’ Daytona 500 in the early 80s,” He also praised Ken Squire, who is the one who coined the term “The Great American Race” for his presentations. Earnhardt Jr. further added that now the broadcast by FOX and NBC seems to have lost the charm. And, he, with this new venture hopes to revive some of that old magic back. But mostly, he wants to make the fan experience better because for him fans are always going on about post-race, I want more post-race. I need more post-race.”

Hence, he mentioned that he is particularly excited about the extended post-race coverage on Amazon. There’s some great opportunity, I think, for how we shape our pre-race and post-race show. Specifically, I think, with Amazon, because they’re not a network, right? They don’t have to go on and off the air at a specific time so that can be whatever it needs to be,” he said.

This flexibility allows him to alleviate the most common fan complaints by offering additional post-race coverage. He said that fans don’t just want to hear from their winners, but also their favorites. With the Amazon Prime platform, he has a real opportunity to bring a more well-rounded experience for the fans. Something along the lines of what F1 has managed to do.
