At the core of every NASCAR driver lies an indisputable streak of being competitive. These drivers often tread the extra mile to make sure they deliver favorable results and are not ready to budge an inch to their fellow drivers. More often than not the competitive drive of the racers overpowers the better judgment, making wrecks a fairly common occurrence.

While that is so, things often take off a murkier tangent among the drivers as they shove each other on the track. And this was evident in the latest tweet of Will Rodgers.

It was just a day back when Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft had displeasure over the fact that drivers shoving each other out of contention as an act of retaliation. The incident had occurred in the ARCA Menards Series when Sean Hingorani had contentiously shoved his own teammate into the sand trap and put an end to Dean Thompson’s 2nd position finish. However, it was the damage that the car sustained that adds to the woes of the team.

Nevertheless, a similar incident had occurred during the Craftsman Truck Series, at Mid-Ohio on Friday. The Craftsman Truck Series was nothing less than chaos for most of the drivers. Nevertheless, it was Corey Heim who had won the pole as well as the Craftsman Series on Saturday.

The victim of the crash at Craftsman Series was Will Rodgers from Young Motorsports. Rodgers had joined the team as a primary driver. The driver ended up on the sand twice, once with 22 laps to go, and the other time, with 12 laps to go. The driver ended up on the sand with Austin Wayne Self in the last wreck. Moreover, the driver also pointed out the mediocrity of the format and how it breeds drivers without a sense of sportsmanship.

Nevertheless, Will Rodgers posted a picture of the mangled car and also heaved his displeasure as he posted the words, “When you race around idiots, you get raced like an idiot… this series and 2/3 of the drivers in it are a joke. I made plenty of mistakes myself, but I never took anyone out, intentionally or unintentionally. Just ridiculous.”

As the post gained views, racing enthusiasts also joined in with the driver to show their support and show their disappointment in the degradation of the format. They wrote on Twitter,

These instances reinforce the lack of sportsmanship among the drivers. While being competitive is surely acceptable in order to sustain oneself in the world of sports, wrecking a fellow driver could be construed as taking the matter too far.
