Who is Andrew Overstreet?
Andrew Overstreet hails from Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States. After completing his Bachelor of Science in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Overstreet started his career in the world of motorsport racing. This is not the first time that Overstreet will be working with a team of this high profile.

He has been known to work with famous teams like Hendrick Motorsports and even Team Penske. Currently, he will be starting his journey as the full-time crew chief for the No. 1 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
How did Andrew Overstreet come to don as the crew chief for JR Motorsports?
Overstreet started his career in the year 2019 as a race engineer with Turner Motor Sports. Here he was involved with duties like 7-post testing and vehicle simulation. Post his one and nine-month stint here, he started his career as a race engineer with Kyle Busch Motorsports and then with Red Horse Facing. It was in 2015 that Overstreet started his career with Team Penske and he has worked for five long years with them. He was the lead engineer on the 22 NXS team from 2017 to 2019.
He joined JR Motorsports in 2020 as a race engineer. It was only last year that he acted as a part-time crew chief and even accomplished a victory at Watkin Glens. He was the chief of the No. 88 Chevrolet and collaborated with various drivers like Carson Kvapil, Connor Zilisch, Bubba Pollard, and even the legendary Dale Earnhardt Jr. Carson Kvapil announced that Overstreet would take over as full-time crew chief with JR Motorsports.
Kvapil said, “Andrew Overstreet is going to be the crew chief. He was [crew chief] for the fifth car, the No. 88, last year with me, [Connor] Zilisch, [Connor] Mosack, and [Bubba] Pollard. He’s moving up to full-time crew chief and Mardy [Lindley] is going to be Zilisch’s crew chief. I think for me, it’s a good fit. Me and Andrew [Overstreet] worked really well together last year, and I felt like we had a pretty good deal going there”.

The 2025 NASCAR season will witness Carson Kvapil taking on a full-time role with Andrew Overstreet and supported by Connor Zilsch. Zilsch is currently a part of Trackhouse Racing and has been known to showcase quite impressive runs during his Xfinity runs. Kvapil belongs to a family of racers and hence this lineup for the upcoming season is pretty dominant. For those who do not know, Kvapil is the son of Travis Kvapil, the 2003 Truck Series Champion.
