Dale Jr. may be a NASCAR legend, but when it comes to life off the track, he’s a family man through and through. On their sprawling 300-acre estate in North Carolina, the Earnhardt family is all about spending quality time together, especially as the Christmas spirit takes hold. With their two young daughters, Isla Rose and Nicole Lorraine, the Earnhardts recently enjoyed a playful day in one of the property’s quirkiest attractions—a replica Wild West jailhouse.

While the sight of Dale Jr.’s daughters donning Santa hats and playing sheriff is heartwarming enough, it was Amy Earnhardt’s cheeky Instagram story that had fans smiling.

Inside Dale Jr.’s wild $5.2 million wonderland

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 300-acre paradise, Dirty Mo Acres, isn’t your average backyard. This North Carolina retreat feels more like a personal theme park with its eccentric touches and endless activities. The centerpiece? Whisky River—a jaw-dropping replica of an Old West town. Complete with a working saloon, jail, chapel, and even a general store, it’s a slice of cinematic nostalgia. Dale Jr., inspired by Willie Nelson’s movie-set-style ranch, designed the town as a hangout for his single days, joking that he didn’t want his buddies trashing his actual house.

Amy Earnhardt shared a glimpse of family life at the Dirty Mo Acres on social media, showcasing their daughters Isla and Nicole in festive gear at the property’s sheriff’s office. The photos captured the girls giggling as they tried to unlock the jail cell doors. These keys work,” Amy captioned one image, as the girls played with the vintage-style keys and posed for the camera.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. The estate also features a 1950s-style gas station, a paintball course, and a race track graveyard—a wild resting place for over 100 battered race cars, including wrecks from NASCAR legends like Jeff Gordon and Danica Patrick. Dale’s personal favorites? The ones he drove himself were now covered in moss and weeds. There’s even a story about him losing a car on the property for over a year, adding to the quirky mystique.

Dirty Mo Acres also boasts a luxury garage brimming with memorabilia, including winner’s circle checks, trophies, and bits of Dale’s cars. For downtime, there’s a basketball court with a full locker room and even a golf course. And let’s not forget the resident buffalo, because why wouldn’t you have a herd roaming your 300 acres? While Dale and Amy’s family call a sprawling $5.2 million, 11,784-square-foot mansion on the property home, it’s clear the Earnhardts aren’t just about luxury. Dirty Mo Acres is a playground for Dale’s creativity, his love for history, and, most importantly, the family memories they’re constantly creating in this one-of-a-kind haven.

Amy, too, has been vocal about her dedication to nurturing a close-knit family. Known for her down-to-earth personality, she often shares snippets of their life, from holiday traditions to daily joys. The playful jailhouse scene was just another example of how the Earnhardts find ways to make memories together. It was clear from the Instagram stories Amy posted. Not only did their children lock Junior up, but they explored the massive property. The post radiated joy, giving fans an intimate look at the Earnhardt family dynamic. Dale Jr., known for his competitive edge on the racetrack, has always shown a softer side when it comes to his family. Isla, born in 2018, and Nicole, born in 2020, have become the center of Dale and Amy’s world.

Recently, his daughters saw a different side of him,  after Dale Jr. returned to his #8 Budweiser car for one race.

Isla and Nicole get a taste of Dale Jr.’s NASCAR success

In interviews, Dale has always emphasized the importance of balancing his public life with being a hands-on dad. Whether it’s sharing laughs at the Wild West jail or cheering for their dad’s ventures, Isla and Nicole are growing up surrounded by love and adventure. However, because of the timing of Dale Jr.’s retirement, they were never able to see their father in full NASCAR regalia. After all, Isla and Nicole are part of the legendary Earnhardt legacy. It was only time before they found out just what their father and grandfather had accomplished.

And what better opportunity to do so than Dale Jr.’s prolific return to the red #8 Budweiser car? The return of the car most associated with Junior at the South Carolina 400 would be a great way for Isla and Nicole to experience everything Dale Jr. achieved in his NASCAR career.

Speaking about the experience, Junior went on to say, “I loved them being there. At first, they were kind of scared about it. They were scared of the cars and the noise….but now they are really comfortable about it and I’m starting to understand that they are starting to understand. That’s starting to bear fruit. I want to race more so hopefully the kids know that I race. I didn’t wanna not race in front of them and then when they are 15 or 20, have to go, yeah check this out, I had a whole another life. And they would be like man, wonder what that was like, looking at videos and pictures.”
