Fans have been trying out both games and analyzing the graphics, physical effects, and FPS across different tracks in diverse lighting and weather conditions.

As things stand, Forza vs Gran Turismo is the ultimate battle of titans in the racing game industry. Since the time Forza Motorsport was introduced in 2005, it has been compared with Sony’s release and the fight for the best console-racing game has been active. The last time there was a direct head-on-head between the two was six years back when Forza Motorsport 7 took on Gran Turismo Sport. Now that Forza Motorsport 8 has been released, the rivalry continues and Toni Breidinger has chosen to officially join the camp of Microsoft.

Promoting the game on her Instagram handle, the 24-year-old expressed her joy for the release and shared a clip from the same as a story. She said, “Forza Motorsport is now out on Xbox and PC. I had the chance to make some laps already and got to drive on tracks that I’ve always dreamed of racing on. There are so many types of cars and tracks in the game. (…)”

In addition to being a stock car driver, Breidinger is also a Victoria’s Secret Model. Often held on a platform to follow in the footsteps of sports legend Danica Patrick, she currently drives the No. 55 Toyota for Venturini Motorsports and participates occasionally in the Truck Series with Tricon Garage. Amidst the ongoing dogfight, the opinion of someone of Breidinger’s caliber could possibly sway the crowds.

Though the previous version of Forza Motorsport had been quite well received, Turn10 decided to reboot the franchise after a break. By coincidence or not, the developer got the timing perfectly right and is now able to match the game’s nuances to Xbox’s superior capabilities. Amongst the many features that have been introduced in the game are the addition of a groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence system and a fresh new ‘Career Mode’.

Talking about the gaming improvements that have been brought on, entertainment media website, ign.com wrote, “If the previous game, Forza Motorsport 7, has any noticeable handling blemishes, it’d be that there’s often a lack of bite to the feeling of grip. Six years later, that’s totally gone here in this follow-up. The feeling of grip in Forza Motorsport is far more pronounced and authentic, and cars feel more realistically rooted to the road than they ever have previously.”

Despite the positive word-of-mouth and host of advanced features, there are controversial voices that claim that the visuals and driving response of Forza don’t come close to that of Gran Turismo. With graphics comparison between the two games rolling out every minute, a side-by-side from IGN portrays the differences clearly.

Criticisms on Steam have also noted issues including the not-so-quick vehicle transition and the game’s overall loading consistency. Whether Forza Motorsport is able to stand up to Sony’s flagship or not, it is apparent that it is much better than its previous self. With over 500 cars and 20 tracks, it could potentially expand into something larger in the coming years. Let us know what your preference between the two is!
