NASCAR’s sponsorship crisis continues. The past few months have been a headache for drivers across the three national racing series. With no sponsors to represent, drivers have actively searched and explored their options in this time of peril. In the country’s premier stock-car racing tourney, the Cup Series, one team that has needed help navigating their way around in the sponsor market is Stewart-Haas Racing. On the other hand, another NASCAR legend who has been cruising in this aspect is Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The Tony Stewart-owned team suffered a setback when beverage-making giant Anheuser-Busch announced it would shift to the Trackhouse Racing team’s No. 1 Chevrolet of Ross Chastain. Losing a long-time sponsor and a stalwart in Kevin Harvick simultaneously was a big concern for SHR. Harvick’s replacement, Josh Berry, has also failed to attract companies to launch their bids. On the other hand, his former teammate at JR Motorsports has acquired the services of Berry’s previous sponsor, Jarrett, in the Xfinity Series.

JR Motorsports has announced that logistics and transportation company Jarrett will extend their relationship with the Dale Earnhardt Jr-owned outfit for another year. Following Josh Berry’s exit from the Xfinity Series in search of greener pastures in Cup, Jarrett will now showcase their presence on Justin Allgaier’s No. 7 Chevrolet. Per the deal between the parties, Jarrett will serve Allgaier in six primary races and will be restricted by placement for the rest of the season.
The company began its partnership with JRM in 2022 when they signed up to sponsor the promising career of Josh Berry. However, their likeliness to stay in Xfinity was confirmed with the news of their movement to No. 7. Allgaier has a solid reputation in the second tier, finding himself in constant championship races, and is also the winningest driver for JRM. Expressing his joy over the deal, Allgaier said,
“It has been a blast getting to know Mike (Jarrett, founder, president and CEO) and his family during their time with JR Motorsports. Mike is just as passionate about racing as he is about his company. I think we can do a lot for them in helping to create awareness around everything Jarrett has to offer.”

“We are thrilled to partner with JR Motorsports again this year,” said Mike Jarrett, president and CEO of Jarrett. “Justin Allgaier and the No. 7 team embody integrity, teamwork, and consistency, which are among Jarrett’s core values. We look forward to an exciting season and watching Justin capture the checkered flag!”
With a second-place finish in the final standings after the conclusion of the postseason in Phoenix, Justin Allgaier’s stocks are on the upward curve in the NASCAR community. Mike Jarrett has actively latched on to it and continued his story with JRM.

Kevin Harvick‘s departure from NASCAR proved to be too big a loss for Stewart-Haas Racing. Along with The Closer, a fellow driver and two more sponsors followed suit. Aric Almirola announced his intentions of moving away from the team and trying out a new experience with a different team. Almirola’s partner, Smithfield Foods, also saw this as an opportunity to announce its separation from the sport.
The NASCAR landscape has changed continuously over time. However, this is the first time the involvement from sponsors has been this low. The circumstances have not just burdened Tony Stewart with finding new drivers but also new sponsors. A few days back, a certain NASCAR insider claimed that Berry would do just fine, all thanks to his affiliation with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Jr is easily one of NASCAR’s most marketable and popular personalities. Being one of the most active and participating people in the sport, his involvement adds much value to any sponsorship deal. On the other hand, despite SHR being a powerhouse in the Cup Series, the sponsorship crisis has hit them hard.
