Renowned NASCAR broadcaster Mike Joy has found himself in the middle of a commercials controversy recently. Many fans have shown their displeasure about how the commercials ended up costing the viewers some crucial action during the races. However, Fox’s NASCAR broadcaster has spoken against the arguments and even openly responded to the fans’ criticism online. Unfortunately, Mike Joy became a target of the fans yet again after he made an error involving Kyle Larson and also hit back at people criticizing the commercials with a peculiar remark. Following the online bashing, Mike Joy recently responded to his critics in a brave manner.

During the race at Phoenix Raceway, Mike Joy made a mistake on air by claiming that Kyle Larson’s stage 2 win was his second on the track. The renowned broadcaster also claimed that the 2021 Cup Series champ had won his first stage 2 in 2001. However, it wasn’t the case as Larson would have been only nine years old at the time. Moreover, Joy also ended up calling out the fans criticizing the commercials as ‘keyboard warriors’, which triggered a great amount of online backlash.

While responding to a frustrated fan who hit back at Mike Joy with an abusive comment, the 73-year-old wrote, “Thanks for being concise. I value the opinions expressed here, and I don’t block anyone. As a race fan, I share many of your concerns. As a broadcast professional, I know why some things can’t easily change. Hope you enjoy the race as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.”

Joy took a calmer approach while responding to a fan’s criticism as he laid out the multiple perspectives he has as a fan and a broadcaster on the commercials controversy. However, it is not the first time Mike Joy has shot back at the fans.
