Toni Breidinger is taking part in the Rose Parade festivities. Themed the ‘Best Day Ever’, the 136th iteration of one of America’s most beloved traditions was witnessed by approximately a million spectators, with thousands camping out on the route the night before. Televised in 70 countries with an estimated 82 entries, the occasion was a sight to behold and featured plenty of big names that were entertaining the public at the start of the new year.

Breidinger, who is all set to compete in the Truck Series in 2025, marked her attendance as well. Representing the Women’s Sports Foundation, the 25-year-old made quite a statement with her appearance, despite security concerns at the event.

The Rose Parade has always been a joyous occasion. It’s a tradition that brings families together to enjoy a carnival-like atmosphere, but this time around, there was an underlying sadness in the air. Hours earlier in New Orleans, a driver had driven into a crowd at Bourbon Street, ki—ing 15 people in what was suspected to be a te—orist attack. As a result, there was a moment of silence before the festivities began, and law enforcement was on high alert to safeguard thousands of spectators who had lined up on the 5.5-mile route.

Twelve-time Grand Slam winner Billie Jean King served as Grand Marshall for the Rose Parade. The 81-year-old, who won against Bobby Riggs during the 1973 ‘Battle of the Sexes’ game is also the founder of Women’s Sports Foundation, which featured NASCAR’s Toni Breidinger as well as two-time Olympic gold medal-winning water polo player Ashleigh Johnson. Speaking from a convertible, the Tricon Garage driver said, “Hey guys! Happy New Year! I’m currently in the Rose Parade. Tune in now on NBC to check it out.”

It seems like Toni Breidinger is keeping herself busy. When she’s not competing on the racetrack, the California native is modeling for Victoria’s Secret on the pink carpet. This time around, she is part of the pregame celebrations ahead of the College Football quarterfinal playoff between the Oregon Ducks and the Ohio State Buckeyes in Pasadena. It’s not the first time NASCAR drivers have featured in the Rose Parade, as Rajah Caruth and Richard Petty have also represented the sport at the iconic event a few years ago.

Breidinger has plenty to look forward to. The racer will be competing in the No. 5 Toyota Tundra for Tricon Garage and will be looking to learn the ropes from Corey Heim in her rookie season. By representing the Women’s Sports Foundation, the NASCAR driver inspired the next generation of girls to take up motorsports as a viable career option, and her growing popularity both on and off the track also promoted the stock car racing series in front of thousands of people.

Toni Breidinger has been handed the opportunity of a lifetime. Whether it’s because of her off-track presence or simply her racing prowess, a seat at Tricon Garage isn’t easy to come by. The organization is one of the strongest in the Truck Series, and if the 25-year-old capitalizes on the opportunity, the equipment at her disposal will help her succeed on the racetrack. Even though her 2024 ARCA Menards Series season left much to be desired, with no top-five finish in 20 appearances, the California native will be replacing Dean Thompson for 2025.

Sharing her thoughts ahead of her rookie campaign, Breidinger candidly said, “I’m definitely excited for that next step. Obviously, there is going to be a learning curve with it but Toyota’s been super supportive, and I’ve been preparing and like, grinding pretty hard during the offseason. I’m excited for the offseason and this coming season. I feel like this is a good time for me to prepare and get dialed in and be ready to go when the season starts.”

There are plenty of reasons why Tricon Garage may have gone for Toni Breidinger. The racer brings with her plenty of sponsorships as well as attention from a loyal fanbase, factors that set her apart from Dean Thompson. Moreover, 15 DNFs in the past two seasons is a very poor record for the 23-year-old racing driver, and it’ll be difficult for Breidinger to do any worse. With millions of followers on social media, she will likely be awarded the Most Popular Driver for the Truck Series in 2025. All she will need to do is perform on the racetrack to silence her critics as well.
