Rivalries are a common aspect in any walk of life, whether it’s between two human beings or corporate giants. Not a single person can disregard the ambition of competing and outdoing the other competitor in the field. It is not only a common scene in the tracks of racing but also between corporate organizations. And the NASCAR race at Chicago is kind of witnessing one such rivalry come to fruition.
NASCAR is about to hit a new milestone. In July this year, Cup Series hits the streets of Chicago for the first time in its longstanding history. With a backdrop of Lake Michigan and Grant Park, the Cup Series race is set to take away the breaths of the audience. While oval race tracks with bankings are atypical of NASCAR racing, street racing has been predominantly a part of open-wheel racing like Formula 1.
Nevertheless, it is about time that the authorities come up with a variant for its traditional racing venues, with street car racing being that new addition. Having a long list of pageantries and parades, the stage is set for the drivers to race in one of the sports cities of the world. The countdown to the race weekend has already begun as the drivers start their engines on July 2nd (and also 1st).

NASCAR Ahead of Its Street Racing, Announces a New Member of the Team
Before the Cup Series hits the streets of Chicago, the NASCAR Chicago authorities dropped a new announcement to add to its list of founders.
NASCAR announced Xfinity as the new addition to the inaugural team of the race on Thursday. Among the likes of McDonald, Blue Cross, and Blue Shield of Illinois as the other founding members, Xfinity will be in charge of the promotional, marketing, and presenting rights of the race weekend.
While it might come as a shocker for many, the news comes months after the corporate giant Amazon Inc, specifically its subsidiary, Amazon Prime, had shown their interest to bid for the television and broadcasting rights. While Fox and NBC Sports already hold the broadcasting rights to the sport, many fans were of the opinion that these tech giants’ involvement would do more justice than other networks.
Nevertheless, among all the discussions, Xfinity, the rival company of the tech giant, uses its strategic planning to roll and secured a coveted spot in the race. In addition to being a founding partner, there are additional surprises as revealed by journalist Adam Stern on his Twitter account.
He wrote, “@Xfinity will be the third founding partner of @NASCARChicago and get branding in a dedicated section of the circuit including Turn 10 being called Xfinity 10G Turn. It’s unclear the extent to which this represents an incremental spend to what it already committed to NASCAR.”

The founding partner model is really unique to the Chicago Street Race, and we can’t think of a better organization to add to this incredible list of partners for our first-ever street race.”
However, the comment section portrayed a mixed reaction from the fans after the news was announced.
