Will WeatherTech's sponsorship be the game-changer Trackhouse Racing needs to dominate the 2025 season?

Trackhouse Racing Team will be one of the teams to look out for in 2025. The team has a lot going on for it and the results will be seen in the upcoming season. Not only did they manage to buy a charter from Stewart Haas Racing, which will shut down at the end of this season, but they also have a star driver ready to take the seat. On the other hand, NASCAR is the busiest it’s ever been during the playoffs, with the anti-trust lawsuit against the governing body; however, when Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks was approached by the media, he decided not to discuss the matter.

With the Lawsuit making headlines everywhere, Trackhouse Racing has a surprise for its fans. Everything started off when Trackhouse Racing uploaded a teaser on their Instagram page where Conor Zilisch was trying to get a peek at a covered car. That’s when the soon-to-be full-time Trackhouse driver Shane van Gisbergen walks in and warns Zilisch that they need to wait until Sunday to see the car. Now that it is Sunday, the team has made their big reveal.

Trackhouse Racing wants to win more titles and they are going full throttle for it. Next year, they will be running 3 charters with Ross Chastain in the No. 1 car, Daniel Suarez in the No. 99, and Shane van Gisbergen in the new No. 88 car in the team. The Kiwi driver comes with a new sponsorship for two of their cars, one in the Cup Series with the other one being their Xfinity Series ride.

It was recently announced that the billion-dollar company WeatherTech will be sponsoring the two cars for a total of 36 races between Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch. The announcement was made at the Talladega Superspeedway before the race started, and the driver will be racing with a newfound excitement knowing that he is sponsored for his first full-time season in the Cup Series.

The owner of WeatherTech, David MacNeil, is extremely happy to announce the sponsorship, as he stated, “When I wanted to spread our WeatherTech racing wings and get involved in NASCAR racing, our research for the best team to partner with came down to Trackhouse because we share the common values of excellence and integrity, along with their ingrained mantra of working hard to succeed and win.”

Looking into the future, MacNeil revealed, “At WeatherTech, we couldn’t be happier with how our first year has unfolded and are looking forward to a successful 2025 with Trackhouse.” Shane van Gisbergeb is currently in the Xfinity Series playoffs and although he is in the bubble of elimination, there is still 1 more race for him to make it into the top 8. With the announcement of a new sponsor, he has all the more reason to perform at ROVAL, as such news should be inspiring for any driver to get behind the wheel.

Although David MacNeil made his statement about working with Trackhouse Racing Team, van Gisbergen revealed that he has a stronger connection with them.

Before Shane van Gisbergen took to NASCAR, he participated in many other disciplines of motorsports. He took part in the IMSA and that’s where he raced with Cooper MacNeil, the son of the owner of WeatherTech. Considering that, it’s fair to note that WeatherTech already knows the Kiwi driver’s caliber.

When SVG was asked about his sponsor for 2025, he stated, “WeatherTech has been in racing a long time and they understand what it takes to succeed in the marketplace as well as on the racetrack.” He explained his relationship with the MacNeil family, saying, “In fact, I have raced with David MacNeil’s son, Cooper MacNeil, in IMSA. They have been a huge supporter of mine this year, and I’m looking forward to taking WeatherTech to the Cup Series in 2025. We both know there will be a huge learning curve, but we’re ready for the challenge.”

Both parties are excited to get to the next season so they can show how well they fare on the tracks. WeatherTech has faith in SVG as they have seen him race in other series, and the fact that he won his debut Cup race just adds to their safety net. In the current season, SVG has already accumulated 3 wins and with him in the playoffs, anything can happen.
