There are two very fast Kyles in the NASCAR Cup Series. Of course, Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch. But the two might have even more in common than just being Cup Series Champions and having the same first name. Both of them have been very vocal about their intentions of running in the Indy500.
However, that seems far less than likely to happen anytime soon.

Although both of them would be an amazing addition to the single-seater racing series, there has always been something or another keeping it from happening. Obviously, besides their crucial role as drivers for the owners they race for, some obstacle or another keeps them from making the leap.
Unfortunately, Busch talked about his possibility of running the Indy500 next year, which according to him, “It kind of went dark. It all dried up.”
As sad as it is, the dream of him in a single-seater car next year seems to be no more than a dream yet. But there is no harm in staying optimistic. However, optimism seems hard to gather because Larson’s perspective is quite similar, “Nothing has moved forward with it. If something came to me that was in a competitive car, I would jump right on it.”
Fortunately, the Hendrick Motorsports driver opened up a little more on the restrictions, as he quoted his fellow name-sharing Cup Series driver, “I just think there’s so limited rides when you’re engine restricted to one manufacturer. It’s tough. I read where Kyle (Busch) kind of stalled out. It’s just tough, but I want to do it.”

But Busch might have a better chance now.
Kyle Busch has a better chance at running the Indy500 after 2022
Although Busch has been intending to run the series for a long time, it didn’t seem like an option because as a Toyota driver, he had no leverage. But that will change next year when he heads to Richard Childress Racing.
Because RCR is a Chevrolet team, so next year, he will become a Chevy driver. Maybe, the two-time Cup Series Champion could pitch to one of the Manufacturer’s teams to let him run the race, and he already did!
