A heated dispute recently flared up in the wake of the incident between Kyle Larson and Ross Chastain at Darlington Raceway. Therefore, he might find it prudent to pay heed to the forthright advice recently offered by a seasoned NASCAR veteran. It might give him the reality check that he needs at the moment.
NASCAR veteran delivers Ross Chastain a bitter message
Kenny Wallace, in one of his latest YouTube videos, talking to the #1 driver through the camera, stated, “Ross… your wreckin’ every week. The people that are building your motors, they’re gonna start giving you less horsepower. So this is the Old Rusty Wallace talk. [Dale Earnhardt] Senior and Rusty [Wallace] taught me this… Now I’m gonna tell you what they taught me. It’s time to start finishing these races off [in a clean manner]. Do it right. Okay?”
“Your message has been loud and clear. ‘I can wreck everybody. I’m not afraid of anybody. We’re team Trackhouse. You push us we’re gonna beat you up back’. But you guys only got two cars, right? Daniel Suarez and you know, Ross. You’re taking on an army now. When Mr. H says you’re not going to win a championship. That means you’re not going to win a championship.”
He concluded by stating, “Because you’re just not messing with Mr. H’s four cars. We got William Byron, Kyle Larson, we got Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott. Those four cars are gonna run into you. And if that didn’t work, Mr. H can call Chevrolet up and go ‘Hey, on the down-low. It’s there all Chevrolet again, but Mr. H holds bigger cards right now.”

The reason for this was the unfortunate incident involving Kyle Larson, another driver from his team. Larson’s potential victory was thwarted due to a collision with Chastain, occurring with just six laps left in the race.
Hendrick told the media, “He’s going to make a lot of enemies, and it’s hard to win a championship when you got a lot of paybacks out there…”

Hendrick has subtly indicated that accumulating such a host of adversaries while striving for a championship could pose significant difficulties. As Chastain inches closer to the championship title, it’s reasonable to expect the challenges will only intensify.
