The NASCAR community has been void of the usual racing action that they are treated to every weekend due to the Paris Olympic break. It isn’t just NASCAR, but every other major auto-racing series like Formula 1 and Indy Car has switched off their engines. This is a tough spot for any race fans who have the habit of enjoying the thrill and drama on weekends.

However, regional race events and series like IMSA and the NHRA are still up and running. As far as NASCAR racing is concerned, there is an option of Modified Tour racing along with the ARCA Series. The Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 race at the Lancaster Motor Speedway was expected to kick off the racing this weekend, followed by the ARCA race.

But it looks like NASCAR’s bad run with the Cup Series race has now made its way to the Mods as well. The start of the race at the racetrack was delayed, which led to the cancellation of practice and qualifying runs. Fans who tuned in on FloRacing to catch the live action saw a rather gloomy sight of a wet track being dried.

It was a rather frustrating sight for the race fans to see the only NASCAR event that was available being hit by bad weather. Needless to say, some were quick to point fingers at NASCAR for opting for a venue that is prone to such weather at the time of the year. While others conceded that NASCAR events have been peppered by adverse weather conditions.

Fans left stranded after the modified race at Lancaster fell prey to rain

For starters, some fans quickly cleared the air regarding any mismanagement on NASCAR’s part, “I mean… At this point anything East of the Rockies is basically “a bad place to race” in the past month+ Can’t really blame NASCAR on this one…”

As it turns out, not only NASCAR but other local and regional racing events had to be postponed because of the weather conditions. “Rain killed the 5K at Stafford last night too. And every open race they’ve had this season has been moved because of rain. Shit sucks.”

Rain has played quite some role this season! The Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500, Richmond Spring Race, Gateway, and Chicago Street Race are just some of the examples of Cup events that were hampered by rain. But even during the off-weeks, the rain still seems to follow them: “Even on an off-week, the rain still follows NASCAR.”

Even the ARCA race at Elko Speedway is expected to be hit by rain stoppages, and this only added to this fans’ frustration. “I was looking forward to going to watch late models at my local track tonight but it looks like we are getting rained out as well , figured “I still can watch ARCA tonight” but that’s looking questionable …. I want to watch cars go fast.”

For all the constant bickering and debates online, who knew the two-week hiatus of NASCAR Cup racing action would be sorely missed? Thanks to fans who love racing so much! And this fan’s reply summed up the sentiment and emotions of the entire racing community that is going through this break phase. “I miss racing.”

Fortunately, it is only a week now for the return of the NASCAR Cup Series. Richmond Raceway will flag off the second half of the 2024 season starting on August 11.
