Witnessing the playoffs without getting a glimpse of NASCAR’s most popular driver, Chase Elliott, contending for the title, is something beyond comprehension for NASCAR enthusiasts. The 2023 Cup Series marks the first time that the No. 9 Chevrolet driver will miss out on the playoffs.

Nevertheless, the saving grace that arrived for Elliott is none other than being able to compete for the owner’s championship contention in the race weekends of the playoffs. The disappointment of not being able to witness all four cars for the championship seemed to be a cause of heartbreak for team boss Rick Hendrick.

Mr.H expressed, “Momentum is a thing that you got to have. If you want to finish the year on a high note, you can win races, compete with all four cars, and be competitive at the end of the year. You are pumped up, you know you have got the right combination to roll in the next year.”

“To me, the most important thing is right now to see Alex and Chase both run well. Chase and Alex are focused on the owner’s championship, which gives them the chance to go after and we want momentum on the 48.”

“The thing about it is you do not go win every year, you’re gonna be disappointed, but the best you can ask for is to be competitive and show up every week and people know that’s the car they gotta beat. And sometimes we fall behind and we don’t why.”

The disappointment will surely creep into the mind of the driver before he returns to his original form and his stellar performance in the upcoming season. Nonetheless, speaking on being eliminated from the Playoffs, as published by the Athletic, Chase Elliott gave his stance on his career’s upsetting move and whether he would be able to emerge as the champion in the next season.

He expressed,It doesn’t define me, so I think it’s a great point, and that’s reality. You know, narratives can change really fast. And that’s sports in general.
