In just two seasons, Trackhouse Racing has established itself as one of the top-ranking teams in NASCAR’s Cup Series. Owned by former NASCAR driver Justin Marks and Grammy Award-winning rapper ‘Pitbull’, the team fielded its first car in 2021. With Daniel Suarez behind the wheel, #99 was chosen as the team number to pay tribute to Carl Edwards Jr.
Although placing 25th in owner points, the team’s maiden venture was promising. Daniel Suarez claimed one top-five and four top-ten finishes during the 2021 NASCAR season. For 2022, Trackhouse Racing roped in Ross Chastain to pilot their second #1 car. Chastain brought in Trackhouse Racing’s first-ever cup series win and his first career cup win at COTA.
However, things look bleak this season, which has only led the fans to question the drivers’ future in the team.

What Does the Future Hold for Ross Chastain’s Trackhouse Racing Team?
The Trackhouse Racing team currently sits at the 4th spot on NASCAR’s 2023 Cup Series owner standings. #1 Ross Chastain and #99 Daniel Suarez rank 4th and 17th on the driver standings this season. While the team and its drivers enjoy decent spots on the standing, they are yet to bag a Cup Series title win. While Ross Chastain’s last win was at Talladega, over a year ago, even Suarez isn’t fairing too well. The First Mexican-born driver to win a Cup Series, Suarez’s first and only Cup Series win, was at the Sonoma Raceway in 2022.
Yet to win any Cup Series race this year, the Trackhouse drivers have had their plates full this year. While #1 driver Ross Chastain was involved in an altercation with Noah Gragson, teammate Daniel Suarez was fined $50,000 by NASCAR for running into cars at COTA.
Plagued by disappointing statistics after last year’s win, Daniel Suarez has become the talk of Reddit town, with fans debating Suarez’s future at Trackhouse Racing.

Speculating on the issue, some fans wrote, “Danny’s not at risk. He’s just having a bad season, that’s all” and “Trackhouse as a whole seems to be off from the magical 2022 they had.”

“I think so. If he doesn’t pick it up after another year or 2 maybe you try and poach someone. But no I think he’s back for 24. Maybe 1-year deal. Maybe 2”
“yes, Trackhouse was built around him, much like 23XI was for Bubba. He’s not going anywhere”
“I think Trackhouse seems too committed to him to dump him over one meh season. He’s at least in the playoff bubble battle so it’s not like it’s a total disaster”
