I apologized to my wife all week,” said Bubba Wallace. “I haven’t been myself. I’ve been stressing. Thankful that we are in it. That is the most calm I’ve ever been.”

“My wife, she puts up with me during the stressful times… I just totally wasn’t myself so, sorry babe. I was just focused on trying to get us in and pay for the house you want,” he added with a smile.

Later on, he spoke to Frontstretch and talked about how Amanda would just keep worrying about him. “I was just stressed out to the max. Waking up at 2:30 in the morning and my wife started to [say], what’s going on? I’m just stressed, you know, and then she starts to worry that it’s her. It’s not.”

Later on, Amanda shared a story on Instagram where she expressed how stressed out she had been before the race. She shared a clip from the infield with the caption, “Anxiously awaiting this race all day.”
