Beverage giant, Coca-Cola has been involved in NASCAR racing for a long time. Over the course of 25 years, the brand has been acting as a sponsor for several top drivers. So, recently, the Coca-Cola Racing Twitter handle asked NASCAR fans about the first name they associate with their brand. Needless to say, there were a variety of responses from drivers from a bygone era and even drivers from the current crop. One of the most frequent names thrown around belonged to none other than Dale Earnhardt.

Back in the 1998 season, Earnhardt Sr drove the #3 Richard Childress Racing car. For a number of races, he competed with Coca-Cola as a primary sponsor. It is also worth noting that his son Dale Earnhardt Jr also raced with the Coca-Cola sponsor on a few occasions. Naturally, their stints were significant enough for fans to remember them rather fondly.

Some fans were quick to reveal their merchandise featuring both Earnhardts and Coca-Cola. Apart from them, names like Kyle Petty, Kevin Harvick, Steve Park, and Michael Waltrip were also mentioned. These are obviously drivers who are revered in NASCAR history and have decent fanbases. However, Dale Sr received the most mentions from fans, as he had been relatively popular and beloved.

Of course, the soft drink brand is still associated with NASCAR to this day. The most recent appearance was when the brand partnered with Denny Hamlin for a few races last year. Without a doubt, the association will likely continue for years to come. Furthermore, the brand lends its name to the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Additionally, there is the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at the Daytona International Speedway.
