23XI Racing driver Kurt Busch is set to miss the post-season races of 2022 even after qualifying. However, his #45 Toyota will still be running for the final 10 races of the season. This goes down to the decision made by the 23XI Racing team, which allowed the #23 driver Bubba Wallace to swap his car for #45 so that he can compete for the owner’s championship in the playoffs.

Instead of giving the car to Ty Gibbs, who was driving the #45, 23XI handed the wheels of the #45 to Wallace, who had a better momentum this season. With this decision, the #45 team wanted to maximize the chances of collecting points in the NASCAR playoffs.

With this swap, the whole of the #23 crew will shift to #45 and vice versa.

Kurt Busch, who got injured with concussion-like symptoms in the qualifying at Pocono Raceway, had the fans wondering if he’ll at all be able to race any time soon.
