With close to 900K followers on Instagram, it is safe to say that former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is now a social media influencer. And with this power of influencing, comes the responsibility of posting some great content. But floating a conspiracy theory? How about that?

In a recent Instagram story on her official account @danicapatrick, the former IndyCar driver shared a post from Blowing Up History! The post featured a picture of the Russian Cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko. And it directed users to an article about aliens. After Kornienko’s sensational statement, “Aliens exist, it’s no secret,” conspiracy theories about outer space and USSR’s ‘Grid’ program began to surface.

The fact that Danica Patrick shared the post indicates that the former NASCAR driver approves of the claims made in the article. Or, she just felt that the article is something her followers would enjoy. In any case, we all know how the former Cup Series driver loves to explore new ideas with her guests on her YouTube channel Pretty Intense.

This was not the only time that Patrick talked about aliens and other supernatural stuff. In her recent podcast with Josh Gates, Patrick opened up about her thoughts on history, religion, and aliens.

Why Danica Patrick feels aliens are sneaky

During her conversation with Discovery’s Expedition Unknown host, Josh Gates, Patrick explained why aliens are sneaky. In the podcast, while discussing aliens, Danica Patrick proposed a lot of crazy theories. In fact, the IndyCar driver said that maybe aliens live among us.

Comparing them with Ninja Turtles, she asked Gates about his take on aliens. And Josh Gates immediately declared that he strongly believes that life exists outside earth. However, he did say that he is skeptical that these extraterrestrial beings lurk among us on earth.

After explaining his side of the story, Gates asked Patrick why she thinks aliens are sneaky, to which Patrick replied, “because they are different and we’d freak out.” Josh Gates smiled and uttered a short ‘No’ to express his disagreement.

But Danica Patrick continued her explanation and said; “You know like Big Foot, or say, something crazy like we don’t know if really exists. This is in our psyche. If you saw it (an alien) and it kind of resembles this and that and you put them together. You are like ‘Oh!’ You’d still freak the hell out! Like holy sh*t! You’ll run, or shoot it, or you test it.”

But Gates still wasn’t sure if Patrick’s theory of aliens lurking on earth is viable enough. He explained that he never came across anything in his career as an archaeologist that was compelling enough for him to say that aliens were or are on earth.
